sorry if i offended any ford lovers but its a GM site, if u get offended and go to a mustang forum, where they bash on how they beat a v6 camaro/firebird w/ all the v8 emblems.

mustangs sound good w/ a nice exhaust, but then again so do LSX, thats it nothing else detoxx

I'd agree but I'd say Average person. I see way more women (atleast in this area) driving mustangs than Fbodies. Usually more more Convertible 6cylinder mustangs especially.

the mustang is seriously a nice looking ride atleast the 2002 Verts (can't remember what years they ran that style I believe 2000 - 2004 but I could be wrong... I also like the 05+ GT's they look nice, but need a new hood

but yes very different and very similar at the same time.

now if you wanted to talk Rice and Fbody... man I can talk trash about the stupid kids who have a spoiler and body kit and think they are fast...

Unless I am bleeding from I ears the new Mustangs DON't run IRS.

There isn't a damn thing with IRS other than they can't do 9 seconds runs at the strip. Yet how many people actually ever get to 9 seconds?

They do make fairly built IRS systems though they are of course more expensive than the 9 inch/12-bolt. Of course the parts require less install work do to; them being stronger versions of factory parts as opposed to custom fitted parts and all.

I've owned a couple examples of both, so here's my $.02:
You sit more upright in a Mustang and it feels like a sporty car; you slide DOWN into a F-body and it feels more like a sports car.
The shifter-position in the Stang is terrible; the cat-convertor "hump" in the F-body is ludicrous.
The Stang's weak link is the tranny; the F-body weak link is the rear.
The modular 4.6 is huge and difficult to work on; the LS1 is under the dash and hard to work on.
Stangs like F/I; LS1s like nitrous.

To sum it up, the only Mustang I really like anymore is the good ol' 5.0 Fox. The LS1 F-body had plenty of shortcomings, but is becoming the "new" 5.0 Fox...

This thread is going nowhere fast. It's too broad of a question.

Anyone who hates Mustangs just because they are made by Ford is an idiot!

^agree, that is the dumbest attitude ever. To me one of the greatest things about having a Mustang is the scene that you get into. I'm not talking about the forums or anything like that, cuz now they seem to be filled with ignorant 16 year olds who know nothing. But every Ford/Mustang centric car show I have been to has been an absolute blast. There seems to be more of a companionship with Stang owners as opposed to Fbods. You see everyone from 16 year old girls to men in their 70's at these things and all love their cars. I will be getting a Camaro in the near future, but I will continue to go to events like Fun Ford and local shows. It is also fun being the underdog, every Camaro/Firebird I have seen turns their nose up at my car on first glance, then they hear the whistle of the Vortech and my bypass valve and the look on their face is priceless.

id drive a mustang anyday. 99-04's can look so amazing. i cant afford 03-04 cobras, but i'd love to get a 99-02 cobra and slam it and make it run high 12's or low *** 13's. what do the non supercharged cobras run anyway? (99-02)

They were made in 99 and 01 and stock are usually good for mid 13's. I have seen a stock one go a 13.3x once, but he was driving the **** out of that car.

The 99/01 Cobra's can be an ideal base for some serious performance. Middish 13's @101-102mph is I think the norm stock. But get some 4.30's and other bolt on's and they are a 12 second car no problem.

n/a they'll suffer the same issues as any other mod motor, but either on the juice or blown they can make for a very fast car.

Procharger and Vortect both offer kits for the DOHC and they will make more PEAK power than a Eaton powered Terminator.

Yep, if you ever see a 00 or 02 Cobra call BS immediately, its just a GT posing. The 4 valve is an amazing car with awesome potential. A good friend of mine had a Mach 1 and it was insane seeing the car pull all the way to 7k and never miss a beat

That same Mach mentioned above made 450 rwhp on 8psi and a super safe 93 octane tune throug a Vortech. It was badass and could run with pullied Terms from a dig. A roll they usually had him, but if they missed a gear or f'd up a start he was on their *** and could come around. He sold the car and I think I miss it more than he does lol

^ Yes the 5.4 DOHC Cobra R was a 2000 model. And 02 Cobras were sent to Austrailia, so I guess I should have elaborated, if you see a 02 Cobra that is not RHD, it is a GT posing.
