I just recently bought a 01 ss and i have a grinding noise coming from the front, it sounds like its coming from the ac compressor or a tensioner. Buddy of mine has 02 z28 and his make the same noise but not as nearly as loud as mine. i was wondering if anyone else has this problem

is it a grind or squeek? mine makes a loud squeek for a little bit when i first start it up, and my friends SS tensioner or pully i forget which one it made a grind/squeek to... something bout these cars

no its more of a grinding noise and its constant. At idle its the loudest.

ac compressor clutch. mine has been doing it for years on and off.

yea thats what i was saying, mine does it lightly... but like i said i directed him to a better form than this for that problem
