Like said above, putting the wrong fuel in and not being man enough to own up to the mistake is very childish.
If they can't take the insult, then seriopusly they shouldn't step into the fray and post such a thing in the first place.
Oh BTW I drove into a river the other day, stupid bloody goverment should have known to put the road on the other side of the water like it is in other places I drive.......

If they had posted something more like:
"I made a terriable mistake, or I was not paying attention and made a dumbass mistake and filled up with 87 instead of 93 the other day.
Is this going to affect my engine??"
I certainly wouldn't have insulted them, but instead been sympathetic knowing accidents happen and offered what technical advice I could.
But as they didn't then I see no reason to alter my original comment.

It's against the law for me to pump my own gas here in Oregon. Jersey is the only other state where self serve is not allowed. But you DO have to keep an eye on the $7 per hour person who does the fill up. I catch them screwing up all the time.

hehehe this is gettin kinda heated. on a side note though are our cars really tuned to run 93 from the factory? I always thought it was 91, not that it matters, no 93 octane pumps close to me anyway. infact i gotta go 10 miles to the shell to get 93. Caseys only has shitto 87 and 89-stuffs like water. not that it matters, ill still fill w/ 91, just wondering.

CockerKid009, well not 93 octane but they are programmed to run on 91, if you look at the fuel door it says premium fuel is recommended(which means 91), but in Texas, or at least in houston and the other major cities in Texas, only offer 87,89,and 93, no 91....

Running a higher octane won't do any harm but unless you alter the tune you won't really see any better performance.
However as the LS1 is PCM controlled and has knock sensors it means if you run a lower grade fuel the PCM can compensate to a certain extent, however it will affect performance and probably wouldn't be advised for long periods because if the knock sensors failed or the PCM got confused (caused by mods maybe) then you could get detonation.
If you really want to run lower octane safley you'd want to get a tune for it, but you would lose power and probably mpg as well.
