Default Shell Gasoline

Im soooo pissed I have to RANT. Well I usually get Chevron 93 octane gas but today i saw it was a bit cheaper at Shell so I decided i was gonna go there for once and try out their gas. So i get there, pull up, go grab the handle to the far left(where the 93 should be) and I start fueling. About 2 min later when it's ALMOST done I look at the handle and I see it says PLUS, so I look to the right and it says REGULAR, and then I see it in the middle, PREMIUM V-POWER....who the **** puts the premium gas in the middle??? The stupid ***** at Shell need to learn how to count....uhhh it should go from right to left 87 octane, 89 octane, then 93 octane....NOT 87, 93, 89, ******* retards, anyways(done ranting) I ended up filling up with 89 instead of 93 or 91 so do you guys think I will be ok? Should I go buy some of that octane booster crap or somthing??? Im prob being paranoid but I do know that the LS1's require the 93 octane or you might get engine knock....

Oh my gosh...CALM DOWN!!! The car isn't going to blow up, LOL. Adding octane booster can't hurt...but even if you don't...I think you'll be okay. It's not like you fill up with 89 on a regular basis - that's when you'd start seeing problems. Once isn't going to do much harm. Relax!

the computer might take out some timing due to the lower octane, I know it says in the manual you can run 87 but it will may not run %100 max power.

Octane boost is not worth your money. What will a bottle do raise it a point max? You will be fine, just dont beat on it if its knocking.

I'm a fan of BP and if I have to fill up somewhere else I go to Shell.

I dont think it will do any harm.

It's just gas dude, worst that'll happen is your car will pull alittle timing, just run it till you have half a tank and fill up with some 93

At least you didn't pull up to a pump with diesel and grab that handle by mistake.

thanks guys, maybe I am over reacting just a bit lol, but I had just changed the oil and my dad had the car for 2 days and ran 89 through it even though I told him to run 93 so I wanted to put a fresh tank of 93 in and ended up with 89 again lol so I was just freaking pissed, but I guess Im over it now

Why didn't you look at the octane ratings before you started pumping the gas??? Don't worry it isn't gonna hurt anything, I almost did the same thing you did a couple weeks ago I caught myself though

Keep your rpms under 2500 or so and it shouldn't see full-timing and you will be fine. Also keeping the load down will be good.

Just pray that they never put green on the top and red on the bottom...THAT would be a bitch, huh?
