Angry Help! Fender tabs snapped by Pep Boys!

Well my dad drove my car today and took it to Pep Boys because it has had a little vibration in the front end for awhile. Well guess what they used to jack on, the tabs that hold the front fenders on. I never let anyone jack my car up unless i am right there to make sure it doesnt happen. So i am going back tomorrow to try and make them pay for it. I remember that someone a while back had the same problem at Pep Boys and actually told them not to jack on it and ended up getting money in court. I cant find the thread though. So anyone with experience with this please chime in.

Sorry to hear that.

It's easy enough to fix when the tabs just get bent, but if they break I'd be all over that shop to make good on the repair.

Try this, it seems to be the one you were looking for.

That doesn't sound good. You car is probably totaled by now; just turn it in to your insurance. Hey, you know what I was just thinking; my car is nicer than yours now. This is a first.

If it is bent which its sounds like what happend. Make sure you Disconnect the fender from the metal body seam before bending back. If you take the 2 bolts off then bend the metal tab back it should not be a big deal. But if you try and bend the tab and fender while they are hooked together you are going to break the plastic fender. I know from first hand experience. hey dont feel bad the Experts at the Tire Rack did it too me too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exact same thing happened to me at sears and pep boys! I was able to bend them back both times. Since then I watch them as they put the car on the lift.

well they said they would pay for it we just have to get two estimates, but i was thinking of just fixing them by putting screws through the plastic into the metal. i saw someone on here do that and it didnt look bad u could hardly tell, and just pocketing the money. what would u guys do?

Personally I would get it fixed but that is just me. If you would rather have the money and fix it yourself go for it! Money for mods!
