Maybe if we were talking about a ferrari or even a ls7 Z06, but even then, we have a few where I live. The only reason you see so many Mustangs around is because they actually sell... I remember seeing somewhere that they sold over 100k more units and sometimes up to 150k more than fbodies combined. I would say that alone would make them uncommon. It is probably from this knowledge that they were discontinued...
Everyone here is rich. I have to say I actually see more Porsches than F-bodies.

I would get another lsx powered car JMHO. You talk about the 03+ cobras making all that power, but if you went FI on a nice H/C LSX you could play with the cobras all day and not get bit.

He could also get a 2005 Civic and add FI and eat some Cobras and LS1's. Who cares. He had an LS1 and now wants something else, like a few us us ex-LS1 guys. Any way you slice it, it is FAR more complicated to correctly FI an LS1 rather than install and tune a KB/Whipple and have 650rwhp on pump gas. ANY car can do that, but it is far easier with the Cobra, but since he wants an auto, go 05 GT w/ Procharger. Or GTO?

As for the Mustang vs. F-body ratio, there's obviously more Mustangs out there. They sold well and F-bodies have also been out of production for a few years.
That said, anyone who thinks their F-body is "rare," should have their head examined...

Whats that spost to mean? that theres a million F-Bodys (thats for you stealth) driving around and only 3 or 4 mustangs driving around??
Better for you?

Fi on a cobra and Fi on a LS1 is the same... both require $5,000-10,000 for aftermarket FI and both have to be installed, both have to be tuned...
plus im pretty sure you can get a bit more power of FI 346 then a FI 281 but
it just depends on what the guy wants to do... we could go all day saying that cobras are solid bottom ends but also compare the price to buy a cobra over a ls1 and theres all that money..
anyways good luck on whatever you do.

Oh? Can you? How about on the stock motor?
Didn't think so...
With the Cobra it's as easy as spending $5,000 or so on a Kenne Bell, buying a clutch($700), getting an IRS brace($200), and tuning it. With an F-body, you'll have to forge your motor($2,500), buy a rear end($2,500), get some nice heads($1,500), get a good cam($350), get a clutch($700), spend loads of money on a blower or turbo setup($6000+), and after all that, you're at the same power level. Awesome.
Granted, LS1s are cheaper cars to buy to begin with, but give credit where credit is due. Both cars are badass though, don't get me wrong.

Yea right, not to argue but..
No way. First I didnt say anything about cost. I said complicated. One phone call to Kenne Bell and they can ship you one single box and you and a buddy can install it in mere hours. Right KB tune/pulley combo and bap hook up w/injectors and you have an easy 580-640+ rwhp. That will NOT happen with an LS1. The average DIY can install KB/Whipple's in 1 day with room to go beat on it. Even the STOCK clutch holds up to all but drag strip romps, I am now JUST changing mine with a 2.8H at 19lbs and it was just begining to slip. There is NO comparison to EASE of power and there is an abundant source. Screw KB's and run turbos on STOCK bottoms for 800+ rwhp. Yea and it is only 281 ci, simply amazing. Cost?? HTF cares about cost. WHen was the last time you got dragged and said " well its ok, your car cost more than mine? " Sorry LS1's are getting cheaper and Cobras are not.

ls1 is cheaper and get more hp than spend all that money for a car youll have to upgrade anyways...
if money grows on trees for you, then buy the car of your choice and go to town..the cobra can make more power from stock, but you pay 10-15 more for a "cobra"
either way the ls1 comes out cheaper!

Or you could get a stock fox body Mustang for 5 grand and smoke both for thousands less!
The cost argument is for ricers and it's ridiculous...

Yeah the choice is his, I was just giving an opinion. I still do not understand why mustang/ford people would join an ls1 forum Maby that means the ls1 might be worth while after all, and the all mighty cobras havent put us out of buisness just yet

Where are all these fast 03-04 Cobras? I'm at Capitol Raceway every weekend. Fastest one I ever saw had a KB and solid axel and went 11.2. Not saying it didn't have more in it but I know at least 10 people with 9-10 second LS1 f bods. If it's so easy and cheap I'd think they'd be all over the place.

IMO LSx engines are for better than the 4.6sohc/dohc engines stock and modded, i am a ford master tech so i know a lot about the ford engines, its not about the money, next vehicle wont be as extremely powered as my z28, just looking for a good DD, somewhat powerful
