terrible day
today i got a call from my brother, who is the used car manager at the local nissan dealership, and fellow car nut, telling me that he was going to go down to the high line auction in vegas to see about a black '06 cb z06. he was going to buy it for the dealership, then buy it at his cost. about 30minutes before he got to the auction, he called and said that he checked the listing and they had an 01 SS, black on black, m6 with 34,000 miles and wanted to know if i wanted him to pick it up for me. (i would have to pay $250 over wholesale-about $13k he figured) of course, i am like hell yea. i quickly ran a car fax and noticed that the last owner (out of 3) had only driven it roughly 3k miles in about 3 years. i figured maybe it was just a weekend car. other than that, nothing stood out and everything was clear. about 15 min later, he calls me excited as all get out, and i can hear something rumbling in the background. he tells me that the car is blown with a procharger, has ported and polished heads, and is basically built to the nuts. i am going wild now. there is a display mounted on the dash board that has all the cars info, 572 rwhp, and all sorts of goodies on it. i tell him "buy that damn car now!" i get a call about 5 minutes later. "i failed you bro." oh, i wanted to cry (i still do actually) he said that people were bidding and bidding and bidding on the car. he bid it up to $23k and then gave up because i don't have cash to pay for it and financing $24 for a car with a $14k wholesale is almost impossible for most, completely impossible for someone like me (not so hot credit) i would have been happy with a stock 01 ss, then i got all excited, now i am depressed. oh, the z06 just got bought as he was walking in, so he basically went down there for nothing. well, just a rant, so there it is. p.s. he bought an '04 barbados blue gto that i can buy for $18k. it has 31,000 miles. what do y'all think?

Wow wouldn't expect dealers to pay that much for a modded car. Your probably lucked out, yea you would have to pay alot more than 24k for a car as decked out as this was. But you would never be able to sell it for that much.
So you win and lose some. Atleast you still have an SS to go play with.

All the Twin Cities Auctions i go to, people walk away from modded cars Hmm. That's crazy. I'd have bid up to 18-19k and then told them to shove it. Could buy a stock one for 12-13 and for the extra you could build the same motor. Too bad about the C6 Z06 also. I LOVE them cars
