Default Hypertech reviews?

I'm currently waiting on my Hypertech to arrive. Have any of you guys had much experience with this programmer? What were the results? I've got an 02 SS with mods, then tuned by Speed inc. Will I be able to get results since it's already been tuned?

Don't use the tuning portion of the HPP.
Use it to change your tire size, your shift points, shift firmness, top speed limiter, gear ratio.
Just wondering, why get a HPP when you already have a tune? The tune should include everything the HPP does plus a whole lot more. Again, just wondering.

Cancel the order and tell them to take it back. If you have a tune, have speed inc touch it up. That hypertech POS will only hurt you. My cylinders have less aluminum on them thanks to the HPP tuner which caused serious detonation even with 100 octane in the tank.

If you have a speed, inc. tune after mods I wouldn't let the HPP3 anywhere near the car. Call/contact them first.

I used one for a while. My opinion is they arent worth the cost.Whats a real tune cost these days?
The power tuning really didnt make a difference.I felt more of an improvement when I did a tune-up.Plugs,wires,trans fluid, etc.

Here's the deal...I bought the car from Chicago on June 6th from Bob Peck (Tom Peck Ford in Huntley) He only owned it 3 months and bought it from a Brian Smith. I received all the receipts of work done. There's a very minor, single miss only so often but only in high 3rd or 4th gear, sometimes 5th. I contacted Speed inc. and they told me they couldn't give me any info because I didn't own it when the tuning took place. Brian Smith did, well he won't return my calls. So i'm not in possession of the dyno charts. I took it to dynomotion in Louisville, had it dynoed at 384rwhp. But it ran too rich. They said they'd tune it for about $300. I found the hypertech for $100. So I should just pass this hypertech on huh?

Hypertech is crap for power tuning. As everyone has stated, if you have a custom tune, why would you even want one?

Having said that, I do have a HPP for my Z28, but that's because that particular car is nearly stock and all I wanted to do was change shift points and fan settings, and I was able to get the HPP for next to nothing. But for my WS6 (which had custom tuning for the cam and other mods) I would never have considered using an HPP over the custom tune.
