Default Automatic headlights!!!

I have owned 2 2002 Camaro SS's. The first one didn't have and the current one does have automatic headlights, I hate this when i'm at a drive-thru somewhere. The worst part is the amount of work it requires to turn them from automatic to manual. The only difference between the one I had and the one I have is my current one has ASR, my other one didn't. Why would they make some automatic and others not?

I didn't know they came without auto headlights, mine has asr also.

But when you are at the drive-thru just pull the brake handle up a click. That should kill the lights.

At least mine come on and go off with the brake handle. I don't think I've ever turned the lights on manually.

There are some made in canada and some here in the states. I can't remember which has which, but that's the difference.

all 1993-2002 F-bodies were made in Canada. and all the Camaro's had AHL's, Trans Am's/Firebirds didnt. someone must have disabled yours before you got it.

I've been told that you have to pull the stereo, there's a module behind it that you have to replace a resistor in or something. There's a thread in here about it and it just seems like a pain in the ***.

I just popped up the dash board and connected the two wires that were on the sensor. Been two years and not one problem yet.

So disabling the c2 connector has no effect on an a4 other than the lights? And maybe a brake light?

Maybe your car was built for sale in Canada? I could be wrong, but I believe that it's Canadian law that all headlights be automatic.

Yes, any vehicle made in Canada has automatic headlights. Here is an even easier way to disable them.

1. Take the bezel and vent off the drivers side vent above the light switch.

2. Remove the 2 screws holding in the light switch

3. Find the orange wire going to terminal G and cut it. You may want to cut it a little bit back from the terminal in case you want to hook it back up later and also wrap some tape around the end of the hot wire so it doesn't come into contact with anything.

**Your marker lights will still come on automatically but the fogs and headlights will be full manual

everyone has a Canadian built F-body, ALL Camaro's have AHL's, ALL Firebirds/Trans Am's built for sale in the US do NOT have AHL's, all Firebirds/Trans Am's built forsale in Canada DO have AHL's. once again, if you have a Camaro, it doesnt matter if your car was built forsale in outerspace, your car has AHL's.

Just popped the dash and stuck a resistor (5ohm I think?) 55 cents from Radio shack. I did it on all 3 of my LS1 cars and my Current SS that was my 1st mod. Never had a problem
