I was crushing GT500's with my C5Z even before the LS7 upgrade - now I give them a 1/8 head start

for a ls3 corvette 12.4 1/4
looks like the corvettes doing just fine.
And it doesn't look like a rolling pep boys commercial.

Saw an all black "427R" Stang at a local Ford dealership today. Looked pretty mean, but I don't think it is intended for the "budget" performance niche. More of a collector car like a Saleen, Roush, etc.

Does anyone question if the 2000 Trans Am auto or manual?
" " the year of the 427R?
Doesn't the 2007 427R make 435 hp with 400# torque?

Have a friend with one and he's a pretty good driver too. He traps mid to low 13's between 106-109 usually. The car is a hardtop and its not impressive for the money he spent on it. Its all looks.

I see what 02 ss is saying.12.2 is faster than 12.5 But isnt it odd how a question has turned into a heated debate powered by personal prefferences? IMHO the only reason people throw around the $$$ issue is because either they are hating that the other person had that money to throw around...Or we all relive the fast and the furious moment where the Ferrari guy is too cocky and gets beat. Myself personaly, I love beating cars that cost more, then I tell myself "If I had that money I would bought a ____________". So can we stop bitching if people use the $$$ excuse? People will always say that the $45k 13 second mustang is a waste, why? Because we spent 1/4th of that and run the same. If we woulda spent an additional $30kish we would have 9 second cars. And yes we do talk about the vettes, because they are ******* monsters on the street. And there arent any videos with douche bag kids driving any Z06's through their garages

Prices mean everything in this country. If they didn't then Mustangs and Camaros would not be popular at all.
But comparing a stock 98-02 LS1 F-body to this really expensive version of the Mustang ($55k is pretty expensive for a car even w/ today's standards, especially if it is a 'stang) and even on paper it looks like it would be a close race. Compare the same F-body to a Mustang 10 years before it and you won't have the same results.
Don't get me wrong though, I absolutely love the Ford 5.0 Foxes, but I will never drool over a 4.6, I don't care how much boost they force into it to make up for the crappy motor. The cars do look bad *** though...
Just my opinion, I'm not getting the big bucks for my opinions on cars though so I guess take what you want. But I personally would never buy a 4.6 for performance... maybe for a DD street car.

I agree tho the 427r are overpriced but it is a roush special edition so thats why it has that price tag, not a lot were made, jack roush influence, yada yada yada. Not supposed to be the fastest car ever, that was not ford's intentions with it. But oh go to a road course and see who wins that race! Thats what the roush was intented for, thats what the roush has always been about.
But yes peformance wise in a straight line street race compared to ls1's they are no match, in stock form anyways.

get over it, its a shame when a 10 year old car and motor will still pull on a brand new SOHC 24 valve GT mustang.

really its true, in the last 10-15 yrs, ford has done **** ALL in the way of comin out with new engines and impresive cars. I mean in ANY category(trucks, vans and cars) the GM vehicle is always superior to the ford. We wont even get into fords 1 of 300 "special edition" mustangs which suck ***** compared to a base vette....come on! I mean at this point, id probably buy a Kia or Hyundai before id buy a ford(I am 100% serious), god knows in another 10yrs, the 4.6/5.4 combo will still be around......gettin their asses kicked by bowties
