Default Towing with Z28?

Would it be okay to tow a single jet ski every once in a while with my 99 Z28? My truck is not running up to par so I thought about using it some during the summer. Any thoughts? Anyone else use their camaro for such things some?

You can pull a jet ski but no more. I have seen a 1000 Cavaliers pulling those and they have little business doing it.

The only area you will run into trouble is going downhill. Slight suspension mods could help this.

I know my Camaro sucks on wet pavement. I hope all your pulls out of the water are dry ones.

As far as the truck goes I haven't been able to get a mechanic to fix it. Not even the chevy dealership. GM doesn't care. I have spent 3 years. I can't find a mechanic in Memphis that knows what they are talking about. I am writing a letter to GM now but I don't expect any help. I have a new GM replacement engine and that was even swapped out but nothing. I don't want to sell the camaro but I might have to so I can tow this ski. I thought about buying another used truck but it seems kind of crazy to have 3 vehicles. The truck that is not running right is a show truck and I didn't drive it much but I did use it to get the ski to the lake about 8 times a year.

Thanks guys for your input. I know everyone has their own opinion.

You have a running vehicle, and a non-running vehicle. And you want to sell the running vehicle?? Thats a little bass-ackwards killa. Sell the truck that no1 seems to be able to fix, cut your losses, and get a beater truck.

What kind of problem that NO ONE IN THREE YEARS can fix? Show truck your using as a tow vehicle? There are so many things that you could/should do.

Anyway sell this and get a beater truck. Part out the mystery problem show truck, buy a beater truck, and mod the Z. ETC....

Goodness, this reminded me of someone used their LS1 4th gen camaro for lawn mowing business ie: towing a trailer carrying riding mower, weed wackers. :puke:

It has been done before. I even saw a yellow C5 on the expressway hauling an enclosed trailer painted matching yellow. Personally, I would not do it.

The only things our cars were made to tow was the person in the other lane down the track. What kind of truck are we talking about? Year/Make/Model and hopefully you get some input here on what the problem might be.

I had a hitch on my Z. It would tow a ski like it was not even back there sometime I would forget. Do you have a hitch on your camaro? If not let me know mine is just sitting around collecting dust. No one ever noticed it unless I told them it was back there. i would light the tires up a bit sometime for fun pulling off the ramp.
