I'm a Flowmaster fan myself, just not the 80 series. I put one on my first LS1 car back in 03. It didnt gain a bit of HP, but, it did sound better. I added longtubes, lid, ory, ran it for a while, and then I swapped the 80 for a Hooker catback, and I could honestly feel the difference.

I also had a friend that made 505RWHP through a cutout, but through the 80 series crossflow, it was choked down to the high 470s.

For those of us that LOVE the sound of the Flows, but still want to make some power, check out the idle clip in my SIG. It's not hindering my 450RWHP heads/cam car one bit

I love my flowmasters sound wise. I have one on each of my cars. When I want power, I open the cutout. I figure if my motor is THAT powerful, and is apparently THAT choked up, then it will blow the end out of the flowmaster and let me know how it feels about being so choked up. lol

I get more compliments on my sound than anyone I know. I have an h/c car with TD's and single chamber flowmasters dumped. If you listen to some of the clips of this setup I think many of you would change your mind, it makes me wet every time I stard my car!!

I think you got a very good deal on your Borla.

I actually think my car ran better with stock catback re-installed. I just removed stock stuff again and installed a Magnaflow setup and it sounds almost like the Borla did with the small restrictor in. It also "feels" like bottom end is super soft now again.

I think I'm going to go with a straight through single in/single out muffler and just use one 3" tailpipe.

Not to thread hijack, but does the 40 series FM sound that much better than the 80?

eh i had a 50 series on my 97 3.8 and it sounded like butt. then i switched it to edelbrock catback which was suprisingly loud with the longest tips ive ever seen and cheap too. now i have a 98 LS1 with 3.5 in. magnaflow and its definatley not the loudest thing at first i was a little dissappointed but i could feel a difference in hp/tq. and now its kind of growing on me. it would sound nice with full exhaust which i plan to do if i dont go into the military... schultz your a lucky man
