Default Flowmaster suprise...

So I had my Flowmaster installed yesterday and suprisingly it sounds very deep and throaty...a little on the quiet side, but the LS1 is a pretty quiet motor, and all cat-backs seem to be if there is a muffler in there.

I didn't really notice any performance gains, as the SLP flows pretty well to start anyways, but I did notice that my RPM's climb and fall a little faster, between gears, instead of a slow roll down of RPM's, it seems to dump all the exhaust instantly in one deep throaty "gurgle" that I love hearing.

$175 well spent. And the Corsa tips look sick.

I use to love the sound of my flowmaster till I got my cutout and realised how bad the 80 series flows...ahhh the good old slowmaster

Get ready to get flammed bud... I am a fan of flowmaster because of the sound but alot of people will tell you how much hp you are losing because of having it. But yea I love mine, its quiet, but when you get on it, it screams!

I already put on my flame suit was I was writing the original post. Whatever, it can't flow any worse than a stock exhaust. So what? I switch to a Hooker muffler and gain 5 rwhp? ooooooooooooo

guy on here had a flowmaster y-pipe back exhaust and switched to a borla y-pipe back, and gained something like 30 rwhp.

the LS1 is in no way a quiet motor.

I'll be going with Hooker LT's and an ORY. its all 3", one day I'll get around to switching out the mufflers and see if I can get another 30 rwhp out of a muffler swap.

When compared to a LT1 with an open Y, and the LS1 with an open Y, I thought my LT1 when it had no cat-back was way louder. The LS1 with no muffler was in no way unbearable at all.

Like I said, yea and where is your proof?
And yes these engines are quiet, have you ever heard an open header one? My car was louder with the dumps on it than open headers, I couldn't believe it

and anything compared to a cutout, is going to net you better gains...

i've still not seen proof.. the only numbers i've seen posted were for a mustang, and the difference was 4hp, and about 4tq. so for under $200 bucks. that's good enough.

not everyone is interested in running at the track.

I didn't. She thinks we are getting married, shes deff. hot and very horny... all the time.

She lives in WI now, I see her a couple times a year, but she says she is getting an apartment here next year so she can live by me. Kinda on the crazy obsessed side, but i just remind myself with the avatar that its ok. Maybe i'll post up a pic of her face

I had a flowmaster 40 series back when I had my LT1 Trans Am...... I must say that it sounded very nice, I insist, VERY NICE!!!! God, I do miss that sound, it can't be compared to my current set up on my LS1 Trans Am, and I am talking about Long tube headers, h-pipe, true dual exhaust.
