my car doesnt have it, and i'm damn glad. when it rains i take the opportunity to take th car out and "have some fun" and also learn to control it better without waisting rubber.
my dd is only a Saturn yet it has traction control... i have that off almost b4 the car completely turns over. garbage.. not a fan... but might be good if your learning on a RWD car....

I used to just turn it off as soon as the car started.
I was traveling up 95 one day in CT in light rain, and I was probably doing 70. I headed over a hill and at the top there was a little puddle(??????). Revs went from 1800 ish to 3000 and back down and the car wiggled a little bit.
Since then I've always turned it on if I am traveling at highway speed in rain. I simply don't feel that I can correct quickly enough at 70 or 80 or......well, highway speed.

As far as i go, i hate the light in the dash on but it's good because it tells me that i turned it off, otherwise i wouldn't even know since it is truly subconscious at this point! Its off, rain or shine or even snow. I have NEVER been in a situation where i would have wanted it on and have been in MANY situations where i was almost in an accident because of it on. Such as making a left turn where you have to pull out and cant see traffic well. i forget to turn it off after filling gas sometimes.
If i get my car custom dyno tuned can they reverse the switch or turn it off?
The only time i'd leave it on is if someone else is driving my car! like teaching someone to drive in my car.

Same here. As soon as I crank it, I reach for the TCS, off, only if its raining it stays on.

It was second nature to me in mine. Get in, start car, turn off traction control, shift into gear, drive. In fact, as I was test driving cars over the weekend I was doing the same thing!

I just shut it off at the track. My first pass ever I forgot to take it off and forgot to shut the AC off. Because of that 14 second pass I'm almost sure that I will never forget again.

I don't do it, my finger just automatically presses the button, like it's posessed. I don't even notice I do it sometimes. When it's rainning traction control stays on though.

It always goes right off. I made the mistake of letting my car cool down in the staging lanes one time when it wasnt busy. When I got in I drove right to the burnout box and tried to warm em up. Anyway didnt happen and for an instant thought I broke something. Luckily there wasnt too many people watching.
