Is paying extra for WS6 Worth It?
I am looking to buy a Ws6, but i am finding that they are harder to find and usually cost more. I was just wondering if it was really worth it. The main obvious difference is the ram air hood which makes it look incredible. Can anyone tell me what comes on the WS6 that isn't on a Regular T/A. Also, is it REALLY faster (stock) when it comes down to it?

WS6 is a performance and handling package that includes: power steering cooler, larger 32mm front sway bar, taller air box with larger opening, ram air hood, Decarbon shocks, higher rate springs, specific exhaust, specific 17" wheels. If you are going to leave those things alone then get a WS6, if you are going to change the wheels, intake, exhaust, handling, etc. then you don't need to spend the extra up front to get the the WS6. Lots of opinions. If you search you will find several threads discussing this.

Ha, see already in this thread the opinions are split. Like has already been said, if you plan on changing the things in the WS6 package then no but if not then I would go for it. And they do hold value a little better

if you want a cool looking hood and a slightly better suspension package. same engine so it's up to you really. depending on the car you're looking at it might be cheaper to just buy a hood and get you're own choice of suspension.

I had the same issue with my Camaro...I didn't buy an SS simply for the fact that everyone with a Z28 tries to make their's look like an SS, so I will do what I want with mine, and not "cut up" a car that may have some collectability down the road. IMO, buy a T/A, do the Firehawk hood if you want, and just enjoy the fact that you have an awesome car. Will you ever push the car to its limits enough to notice the difference between the ram air setup and the slightly better handling...probably not.

My "offical" response:
The real question is, are these threads really worth it? Nothing good will come from this, it's going to turn into a pissing match over nothing (because an LS1 is an LS1), and in the end it's YOUR money so you should buy what YOU like and not what others tell you to.
Furthermore, these cars aren't new, the packages aren't changing, and the answers to these types of threads can be found about 1000 times over by using the search feature.
My "personal" response:
When I bought my WS6 I thought I was getting more than what I was. Shocks/springs on the '00+ models are the same as a base T/A, only suspension/handling upgrades are the wheels/tires and the 32mm front sway bar. Is the hood and wheels worth the extra cash? Probably not. The car will perform 99% the same as a base T/A. But if you like the look, and have the cash, then either buy the WS6 or just get the hood/wheels later if you want to save a bit.
On the other side of things, now that these cars are all used, when I was shopping for my current F-body I really didn't care if it was an SS or Z28. I was more concerned with condition and mileage. I happened to find a Z28 that met my criteria first, so I bought it. I really like the SS wheels so I added those right away. I don't really care for the SS spoiler, so I left it off. As for the hood, I could go either way, so I've opted to stick with the stock Z28 look since I already had the SS wheels and didn't want to look too much like an SS clone car.
