Default SLP 2OTL Muffler

Alright guys....

I am thinking about getting a 2OTL muffler because they are so hard to find and I think they look pretty cool. I have flowmasters on my 99 SS now with LT's and an ORY. I know... chokemaster... but I like the sound. I am wondering if the SLP 2OTL muffler will flow better than a flowmaster? and will it be louder? quieter?

I'm really not interested in Magnaflow so don't bother recommending it. I don't mind having a quiet car at idle, and I know it'll be pretty loud no matter what at WOT with my headers and ORY. Just looking for a comparison between the flowmaster and 2OTL. I will only switch if the 2OTL isn't gonna choke up the car even more than the flowmaster does.

Thanks in advance.

I went from Bassani headers with ORY and Flowmaster catback to the SLP 2OTL catback. This was back in '03 with my WS6.

2OTL sounds great, and flows even better. It will dramtically outflow Flowmaster. I've seen a car gain only 2rwhp on the dyno by opening a cutout over their 2OTL exhaust. VERY good flow. If you look through the muffler, it's a straight through design; you can see end to end with no obstructions.

Have you tried ls1sounds.com to get an idea of the sound it makes?

everyday someone drives home from work past my street in their LT1 ss with the 2OTL and I LOVE how deep and throaty it is. I'd recommend that muffler anyday of the year over the basic 80 series. My question is, how expensive and hard to find are these catback becoming to find?

go for it!

they are really hard to find, but not expensive, however I think once on the car it would be a good selling prop. and I always like having something that is RARELY seen. I have only seen 2 in person and I have seen hundreds of f-bodies.

I have one on mine with headers and hi flow cats. I had one on my LT1 back in the days, seems quieter on the LS1. No doubt it flows like RPM WS6 said, straight thru, makes much more sense than a cross flow. It is quieter than most, I like stealth, quiet at idle sounds but great at WOT, and doesn't drive you crazy driving the car normally. If you want loud it is not for you. If you like quality sound without rasp, this is it.

Well I have LT's with no-cats so rasp is really unavoidable. and I kind of enjoy some rasp every now and then, however I store my car in a garage other than my own, so I like to be quiet around idle, but then WHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM at WOT.

Plus like I said before, I like the rarity factor of having a 2OTL.

It's just two large tips on the driver's side.

I still remember having it on my LT1 SS. Had LT's, an O/R Y and it was so loud and throaty. Why can't the LS1 sound like that damnit.

I have one for sale. Its a fully polished muffler and tips. It was custom made by muffelx with 2 pipes on the right also. Basically the exhaust is like the borla. It has a plate on the passenger side to run the exhaust open or closed. The good thing about it is it has tips on the pass. side, which are full tips that are removable. I also have a bullet muffler welded to the I pipe. Let me know if your interested. zspeed3@sbcglobal.net

I have this system on my Z28 (for the last 6 years) with stock manifolds, down pipes, cats, and an SLP y pipe. It "barks" a little bit at cold start up, then is quiet at idle, and has a decent roar at WOT. Now I'm just an old dude who could not live with wide open, straight-through, dumped true duals off of LTs with no cats, like all of you can, so maybe you can't go by my opinions.
Either way, I suspect it would still sound pretty mean with LTs!

Not super quiet, no. It's a decent bit louder than a dual/dual if you've ever heard that with headers/ORY.

I mean, it's not like a Loudmouth system by any means, but it's not all that quiet at WOT either, IMO, when paired with LTs & ORY.

probably similar in DB to a hooker, magnaflow, bassani, or any other straight through style muffler setup. Definetly unique looking, and has a very distinct SLP tone. You can tell when a car is running a dual/dual or 2OTL before you see it fo sho.
