Default turbo set up

So anyways, i just recently heard from my shop, Psr of arizona, and it looks like the 3.4 whipple will not be going on my car. We have new plans involving turbo. So once again i will have about 37k dollars to spend. Some ideas may be useful.... big single turbo, twin turbo etc.

Thanks in advance,

michael

Id say go lsx block, best forged internals you get get, good heads, turbo cam, and huge single turbo. It depends on your power goals too. If your looking for a custom kit id check out speed inc. Most production kits are geared for smaller turbo/turbos.

yah we could have made it fit, its just that it wouldn't have been cost effective and way to hard to do. Yes i will be goin lsx block probably 402 bored and will be getting the best of internals billet etc. what are some advantages to a big single turbo and a twin turbo

98z28MASS is reffering to the new GM LSX iron block. It comes 454ci standard I believe and has a bunch of new features like center bolt heads. It can support up to 2500 hp so I think that is the best bet for large FI and big HP.

Yea Kozak is correct im reffering to the LSX iron block, however I believe the stock confirguartion is 427 CI, but it can easily be bored/stroked out to a 454. As for twins vs single large turbo I think that with a 400+ CI engine your going to have plenty of power down low, so the single turbo would fit your need better. Twin turbo cars will make plenty of power and will spool quick down low but single turbo cars usually will have more top end (assuming equal flow). This is why you see most of the fast/big power supra guys who drag race go to a large single over modding the factory twins. Again twins will make plenty of power, so its more what you prefer.

I've got a turbo you can use

just bought the vband clamp and flange for the downpipe too.

i've decided to go smaller, it's too big for what i'm building.
