I got a Brand new Coolant Level sensor, Perfect, bought it yesterday and I turned out to not need it. I did open it but didn;t install it it's perfectly clean. Think the dealer would take it back?

I doubt they will take it back, with it being an electrical part. But hell I would try it and see, worst thing they could say is no. Then just keep it tucked away in your'e toolbox.

Look at it this way: You go to the dealer to get a new sensor, and they hand you a package that's been opened - are you going to take it, or demand a new, unopened one? I doubt they take it back.

Most part suppliers have a policy against returning electrical parts. Been burned too many times by crooks trying to return the old part or the new one after they fried it. If they know and/or trust they may overlook the policy.

I remember when I had my 92' Camaro RS. It had a bad distributor that kept frying Ignition Control Modules. I didnt know that the whole distributor was bad, so I kept replacing the modules. It seemed like they would last exactly one month before they would go bad, so what did I do? Well, I took the 60 dollar module back to pep boys for about 5 or 6 times and said it was broken and they replaced it. I eventually decided that I didnt want to be stranded somewhere, so I replaced the whole distributor after I had it professionally diagnosed. Now that I think about that situation, I don't know how the hell I pulled it off. I was only a senior in high school, what did I know?
