baton rouge, theres ur problem. i hear about an f-body stolen in BR or NO at least once a month, if not more. whoever is doing it has a clear plan, and is effective. try posting up the theft on gsfcc just to get word out, and maybe the LA section of LS2

cover the VIN plate with a black card (slide it between the windshield and the dash). You can then also easily remove it if you need to but normally the VIN won't be visible then.

They're easy to get into, I've got no door handles so locking it just takes closing the door, was a pita when I got it, takes me less than a minute to get in now. Sorry to hear about you're bird. Lojack's like what half a g? Anyone know if navigation systems can track autos?

Here is an option................400 bucks for the "black box" and 15.00 a month for monitoring and we can always tell where our cars are!!

That sucks man! One more reason I'm glad I don't live in Louisiana anymore.
If I were back down there I'd have LOJACK installed to up the chances of a quick recovery. SE LA has got to be the Mecca of F-Body theft in the past two years! Any place worse?

It does work. There was a kid about 6 months back who is going to LSU had his car taken one night out of a gated apartment complex. He had Lojack and they called him when the car was moved. They found the car 2 hours later on the Westbank in New Orleans. The ignition and a few things were messed up.

[QUOTE=chrisdacarnut;7982974]If you have connections and a vin number you can get a key pretty easily, and the car would be gone in less than 10 seconds.[/QUote

Nothing new to report yet........Already replaced the car with a NBM '02 ws6, less miles, but bone stock. Now I have to start over with the mods. Had good insurance, but they did not cover any mods, and I had some nice ones. Best advice I can give through this whole ordeal is have gap insurance, and invest in a good alarm, because obviously the factory security system is woefully inadequate. I am several grand in the hole at this point, but it's only money and the new ws6 is nice. I just hate having to do something twice. Wish I could get my hands around the neck of the thief who stole it. My wife is still sick about it.

a fancy alarm system will only keep delinquents away, if one of these people wants to steal the car, it wont phase them

a gps tracking system only works when in the open, not under dense tree cover or in any kind of garage

lojack is really our best chance at keeping our cars safe

snake- i think i met you at my uncles house... his name is Daryl Hebert, i have a blue z28

Yep that's me.....Just spoke with darryl today, he was catching some nice fish while I was working. He had to call and rub it in a little. You still interested in putting some headers on for me???? I never put any on the red one, so I'm not gonna wait that long with the new one.

depends on how soon Andy, right now im in my last month and a half of school trying to graduate so time is something I have very little of. I also do not have a place to do the work. After graduation I will deffinatly have more time though. I graduate in december so if its after that we can talk.

p.s. REALLY sucks to hear about the car, it was beautiful...
