Good deal on a WS6?..... advice please
OK, I just sold my infinit G35(quite a panzi of a sports car) and I need a good daily driver to support my commute of 30 mins on the interstate each day. I found a local guy that has a '98 WS6 with 111,000 miles on it. The car is a six speed and from the drive felt/sounded pretty healthy. The body is straight but needs paint due to an ex girlfriend attack on both sides. It does has the usual issues in the window motor going out and the flip up headlights. Black on Black, with the interior in excellent shape. The seller has owned the car for a couple months now and it has been his "work car". He aquired this from a trade for a streetbike he had. He said $5k was all he was asking for the bike so that is all he wants out of this car. Would this be a good investment knowing a limited history on the car? Is there any additional things I can do to test the mechanical longevity? Thanks guys

Decent shape as far as interior and mechanics, but there is some paint swapping on the passenger's side and key scratches on drivers side...... I know a paint job will be #1 expense then wheels and tires. Not to mention prayer that the tranny hold for a while

The T56s are pretty good trannys so you shouldnt have to worry about that, And you can get new tires/rims for like 7-800 bux from a sponser>>>> so I would say the biggest expensive would be the paint and that shouldnt run too much, so I would say go for it

I am not really sure how you figure 111,000 is low miles but hey....If sounds like a decent deal you get it for 5 and have to put 1-1500 in it will put you still a bit less than a clean car like that will sell for...
