All I can say is test drive it first. I rented a Shelby from Hertz for a week and I got tired of it after a few days. It handled really nice in the curves, the pickup was ok, but I could not get comfortable in it when driving for more then 30 minutes. The visibility out the back was not so great and it just didn't feel right.

LOL!! "300hp out of a 4.6 v8" WOOOOO-F'In-HOOOOOOOO!
The Cadillac CTS is putting out that much out of a v6 and could probably out run that POS mustang. In fact, I'd rather run a 300 HP mustang in my 6000 pound Escalade than in my car. At least it would be closer. Pft!!!!!!!

I can understand wanting to switch cars, but I would not have given up a WS6 for a Mach. The Vette is the next logical upgrade from the f-body. Like many people here i've had both f-bodies and 'stangs. To me there is no comparison. The f-bodies are true drivers cars w/ a ton of potential. The Mustangs, outside of the 03/04 Cobras, are the same thing they have been since they were intorduced in '64...GIRL CARS.

My friend has a Mach1 and another has a T/A. Both had full exhaust and the Mach1 had the intake spacer, that's it. The mach1 ended up winning by nearly 3cars. I guess actually being able to launch your car isn't a bad thing after all...

I'm not about to flame you for having the urge to try something different. This is coming from a household with a modded F body and stang. Sure the F body is much, MUCH faster, but the stang is a nice change of pace and a blast to drive at times. To each their own and have fun with whatever car you get or decide on. Cheers.

LOL ya'll are missin my point. I am disaapointed in GM because they stopped making the Firebird/TransAm. Since 02, they have yet to come out with a v8 RWD sports car thats comparable to the 27000 stang gt! Sure, they came out with a expensive *** caddy & kept the corvette goin, but nothing really comparable to the Mustang GT. Quit bringing in all these other categories! GM ****** quit on us, if everyone on this site wasnt so one sided & just face the facts. Fords mustang will remain dominant until gm gets it right. If this new camaro doesnt work out, i wont be surprised if they quit again.

LOL what a Nut! The ZO6 is ******* awesome but thats a 70000$ car! Ford is advancing by producing 300hp out of a 4.6 v8. GM caved when they stoped making the firebird/camaro. Fact of this matter is GM hasnt really produced anything to compete (pricewise) with the mustang GT. Dont get me wrong, I would never buy a mustang. My hat is off to Ford because their mustang is still in production & selling good. GM has no answer for the Mustang, other than a 2 year wait (supposively) or an expensive as corvette which is uncomparable to the 27000 GT!
If the standard Solstice is Pontiac's poodle, the GXP is its whippet. Boost rises quickly just past idle, with peak torque invigorating the driveline by 2000 rpm. With the throttle floored and 18 psi of boost tickling your ribs, you need a quick hand to keep up with gearchanges. The joy begins petering out by 4500 rpm, but there's still plenty of urge up to the 6300-rpm redline. The run to 60 mph is a fleet 5.7 seconds, only a tick slower than the Ford Mustang GT, and the quarter mile clicks by in 14.2 seconds at 99 mph. Boasting a specific output exceeding that of every turbocharged engine on the market save Porsche's new 911 and Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution, the GXP's four-cylinder is the strong, silent type, thanks to its small displacement, twin balance shafts, and recycled exhaust energy.
your right the "v" motors of gm may not be rolling out by the numbers but the i4's are lol. btw its priced at 21,515

A whole 300!? Wow you dont say... So Ford builds a 500lbs engine that makes 300hp in 2005, and GM builds a 390lbs engine that makes 350hp in 1998, what was the argument? (I shouldnt even have to mention the physical size comparison.)
Your comment that GM doesn't make anything to compete with the Mustang is no different than mine about the Corvette. And what I meant was the Ford GT is not being produced anymore, and that joke of a Cobra is an overweight, under performing wanna be.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned putting an ls1 in it haha you might be the first... I say do it!! Then post a video on stang forums of u smokin a camaro or bird.. See how long it takes for someone to ask why it sounds like that.. Unrealistic but man, if I was rich, the things I would do...

Not that it matters but ls1 was out in 97. And size comparison is bc it has sohc or dohc.. Look at an lt5. Looks huge.

Why would you post that up? If anything you just proved everybody elses point. LS1's are pretty close to that cam only with bolt ons.
So lets see here:$ 2,000 for a cam only ls1 or at least $6,000 for a supercharged Ford that makes about the same power. Smoke another one bro.

I like the Mach's and the Cobra's just fine 2 but I think the LS motors are superior to the Mod 4.6, Especially bang for buck. As stated in my previous post. So I wasn't hating on Fords earlier, just the way that guy threw the big bad 422 whp SC Mach out there. Like that's a hard # to hit.
