I have been trying to decide for a while noe to go with a fully assembled ls2 stroker motor or go with my H/c Ls1 setup. I could get the ls2 stroker from TSP for around 8g. I currently have the TSP PRC 2.5 5.3l heads and the Ms3 cam right now. I haven't installled them yet and im trying to decide whether to go with my original plan or go with the stroker. My ls1 has about 80k miles on it right now but i want to get some good numbers put to the ground. I averaged it up and ill be spending right around 6g for all the parts i want for my Ls1 block. This car will have to be streetable and it is a m6. Any advice on which motor i should go with?

how about some more detail, what do you currently have done to the vehicle, are you already setup to run a bigger cuber inch motor? is the suspension built to handle big torque? are you looking for some fast time slips or just a nasty street car?

I mainly want a nasty street car with a lot of torque. All i have right now is the Heads, Cam, Kooks Headers, Fast 90/90 setup. I am about to purchase a clutch and a 9' rear hopefully. I just don't know if i am going to be satisified with the torque numbers with the Ls1 motor. I will be doing the strano/koni suspension setup for christmas hopefully also. I won't be going to the track much, just street racing a bit.

If i did just buy the shortblock, what other parts would i need to get? Could i transfer all my ls1 parts to the new motor or would i have to go all new parts? Would buying the shrtblock save me money in the end? I just dont know what cid motor i want to go with. 414?408?402?

There are so many options out there. Someone earlier pmed me and reccomended a D1SC procharger setup instead. Sounds like a good deal, just not sure what im going to do.

supercharging is definitly an option but it is expensive. but then your putting a decent amount of boost to a stock bottom end and run the risk of breaking something. I have seen a stock bottom end take up to 18 lbs of boost, but its not a good idea and no one can give you an exact amount before it will break a rod bolt.
