LS1 heads on SBF?!?!
Don't know if this is a re-post, but my cousin sent me the link to this. Seems a pretty crafty Ford guy has noticed the similarities between LS1 and SBF heads. He's building a SBF and customizing LS1 heads for it. It's an interesting thread.

There's a few guys saying how Chevy guys are going to get all mad about realizing the LS1 is a culmination of Ford ideas rolled into one. I have no idea whether that's true or not, but I don't care either. The LS1 makes monster power for what it is. Now Ford guys want a little piece of that so they can feel the power too. It's cool with me.
I especially support the hot rodder ingenuity this guy has. There's no manual, or catalogue for this guy to order from to do this. It's all about customizing something to make power. That's awesome right there.

Hard to believe there aren't even any aftermarket heads comparable if this guy is going through the trouble.

With the bore spacing off by .020(4.4 ls1, 4.38 sbf) there is only a .060 variation between cylinder 1 and cylinder 7. I'm sure that's great for chamber shrouding and/or air flow. Or are fords numbered 1234 not 1357 per bank? I don't know, it's a ford. You can try to make it chevy all you want. But it's still a ford. Circle the problem.

Im hitting up some of the forums that have my thread on 460ford.com to see opinions about my build or any questions.
Yes I have owned some nice heads that are not push over's(canfield 20deg 58cc sbf) but that swap is sold.Im going to make a custom intake first for a 351w,then a 302w on mild ls1 heads later on.LMK,peace.

With their superior flow, it's only a matter of time before the after market makes the slight changes need to bolt the LS heads to the ford blocks.
If nothing else, it would at least be another nail in the coffin of those lame Mod motors.
