You don't necessarily need to know how many gallons your tank holds to find your MPG.
You can just fill up, and use this equation:
How many miles between fill ups/how many gallons you used to fill it up
It's that simple...

fill up, reset ur trip odometer, and then next time you fill up divide the number of miles that are on the trip odo by the number of gallons it took to fill the tank.. then reset the trip odo, and do it all over again.. i am religious on calculating my mileage lol.. fwiw i get about 22.8 average city/highway.

It depends on the year.
2001-2002 had a 16.8 gallon tank.
It was smaller in previous years (15.5 gallon in some years).
Here are the owner's manuals for the 1993-2002 F-body:

WA HOW?!?!
90% city / 10% highway I get 12-15 mpg
80% highway / 20% city I get 17-19 mpg.
I drive normal, not overly aggressive.
For comparison, I've driven Ford Fusion rental cars and got 33mpg with mixed city/highway (well, mostly freeway, it was in Irving, TX).

I break 30 mpg almost every tank...but I sit on the highway on the cruise control for like 130 miles every day at 75 mph. The tanks I've done that were more mixed city and highway were closer to like 25-27 mpg.

Fuel mileage formula:
amount of fuel burn in "X" amount of miles.
Easy way to do it...next time you fill your tank to FULL, reset the trip odometer. Then next time you fill your tank, look at the trip. Say its 150 miles and you filled up 7 gallons.
150/8=21.4 21.4 mpg
