I start the car and let the RPMs come down to idle at least before I take off in hot or cold weather. I'm easy on the car until it's at operating temps.

About what I do, just take it easy for the most part until it is warmed up. If its really cold I'll let it sit for a little longer than usual. With my damn LT's, ORY, and Loudmouth I hate letting it sit for too long early in the morning, or I should say my neighbors prolly hate it.

After I start it I wait until I see oil pressure and start driving. Since the first mile from my house is gravel I limit my speed to 20 MPH to reduce rock chips. The next mile is pavement with a liberal scattering of potholes so I stay under 45 MPH. Once I'm past this I let it rip.

At least its not like a guy who owns an STI (i think) that revs it when its cold. Then proceeds to hammer it when he gets going...I dont think the head gaskets are going to last very long.

Start it, let it idle for a few seconds, go easy on it until it reaches normal operating temp.

Just for a minute and go. But the first mile is a 5 mph idle out the driveway and local road, then a little more at maybe 30 on the back road. By the time I actually give it any gas to get on the highway the needle is rising.

I start it up, wait about 15 secs till idle comes down a bit, then baby it till it gets to 210. That's the perfect formula fo sho.

i usually start my car with my remote start after i get out of the shower, by the time i get dressed and ready to go to work, it's at operating temp....but i still don't bang on it until the drivetrain gets warm, too.

and i also usually start it up with the remote start about 10 - 15 mins before i leave work in the morning, too.

I let it idle for about 30 seconds then go. I don't beat on it till it is at normal operating temps.
