Default Bank Loan value on used cars?

Well I recently bought a 97 Acura CL with 128k on it 3 weeks ago anyways I'v cleaned it up did a few things like plugs, alignment and some other little stuff and I'm flipping it for 6k a lady wants to buy it but she said the bank will only let her spend 3,400 on it

how do you get around something like this im sure she can say its for 3,400 then refinance the next week or something but id rather get it all at once and not have to wait

BTW car

I'd be tempted to keep that if you don't have a decent beater already.

tell her to get a blank check loan from www.capitaloneautofinance.com for $7500 (their minimum loan amount) then you give her the $1500 back which she can put on her loan and BAM there is her 100% $6000 loan.

Sounds like a good idea but it depends on her credit, they may not be willing to give her more if her credit is bad. Good luck with the sale.

Banks usually rely on NADA values for used cars to determine how much they will give for a car.
edit: Usually the only way to buy a really old car is to take out a personal line of credit.

Many banks are getting killed by people defaulting on their home loans, I am sure they are looking much harder at car loans too.....even if they are for a small amount of money.

Cause a bank is not going to value the car on the "high" end, no one does unless is a very very low mile car.

I would try citibank flex line of credit. not a bad rate and the line you get has nothing to do with a vehicle

If she is trying to go thru a credit union or such she may be out of luck. My credit Union will not finance a vehicle older than 2000. That will change in 2 weeks. Then they will not finance a vehicle older than 2001. I'm sure there is a bank or something out there that will do it.

Don't do it as a car loan, do it as a personal loan. Then they don't care what she does with the money. Thats how I had to do my first car loan for the same reason.
