pads and rotors are like 10 Grand if its like the ferrari. If i remember correctly.
Why supercharge the regular corvette engine? Why not a supercharged ls7? I think they should have just hit the 800 hp mark for all that hype and that price. I dont know why they chose to downgrade the engine before beginning to upgrade. Kind of like shooting themselves in the foot if you ask me. Its sad becuase nwo no one will respect the Zo6 the way they did before when engine for engine, its still a better car. Procharged Zo6 will kill ANYTHING. Id like to see one run against a veyron. The Veyron is a fat ***, if i C6 Zo6 was supercharged and tuned, doesnt it weigh like 1000 pounds less than a veyron? I mean that would be the obvious choice for me if i were running things.

For those pads and stuff... You pay around 9 grand for the ferrari ones, but you are mainly paying for the name more than anything.
The ZR1 pads and stuff will be closer to a little North of 6k... Which is still a lot.....
And... you can have your naysayers that would rather supercharge their LS7 and stuff... but how often can you get that raw kind of power with a factory warranty

According to a 2003 Car and Driver article, on a regular Enzo Ferrari replacing the brake pads costs $6,000, and the carbon-ceramic brake rotors go for $24,000. This must be with labor included, but still damn!!!!!!! Wish I was a Ferrari mechanic.
I still say save some money, get a ZO6 and Procharge it.
Yea I guess the first test run on the new beast had a twin turbo LS7, but it burned to the ground. So they ditched the idea of using the LS7. They were also trying to get 100hp per liter and a 700hp vette was just to wild for GM. Chicken *****!!

If you were to actually read some of these articles, you would read that the LS7 cylinder walls are not thick enough to hold up to the addition of forced induction, so they make the bore a bit smaller which allows them to add FI and more power.

And as far as that sledgehammer goes, where is the proof on that vehicle? Where is the video, the anything? I believe it to be a farce.
Side note: ZR-1 looks badass, maybe it will drop the price of the current vettes so I can afford one.

Look, I was pointing out that the poster was talking about a C4 that was fast. It's the Sledgehammer, it makes around 1000hp. It has twin turbos. It is not a production car. It's by Callaway.
http://www.fastcoolcars.com/callaway_sledgehammer.htm
As for the qt times, the fastest STOCK C6 Z06 times are 10.98 @129 mph on stock run flats. So imagine 115 more hp, the ZR1 should be significantly quicker.

Correct, show me proof that the Callaway Sledgehammer is all that and a bag of chips. I've seen pictures of the outside of the vehicle, nothing of the motor. If it is indeed the fastest corvette out of the box like Callaway marketed it then where is the proof? Has anyone aside from the Callaway team driven the vehicle, I've never seen it mentioned in a Car & Liar magazine or anything else. Personally, I fly a BS flag when that car is mentioned.

As for the brakes. According to an article I read in Road and Track, they claim that the brakes should last quite a long time, upwards of 60k miles based on normal driving. Only reason they would need to be replaced sooner is if you were to do track days on long courses with high speed straights.
