Here's a list of a few easily forgot mods
Dragstrip mods (next time your going to the strip try these)
1. Spare tire and jack removal- all together it weighs 37 pounds, WTF GM?
2. Remove back seats (few bolts, easy)
3. 1/4 tank mod- easiest mod, run under 1/4 of gas, with the gas prices, your tank should already be there...
4. !Floormat- sometimes the floormats ride up under the pedal, preventing it being "floored" just leave it at home
Tune up mods (next time you do the tune up)
1. Seafoam or auto-rx, stop putting this one off, your engine needs to be cleaned! Removes sludge and build up, even cleans fuel lines if you do the whole treatment.
2. Synthetic oils- a little more expensive than normal oil, but IMO better. Royal Purple claims its dyno proven to add horsepower. They also have gear oil for the rear diff. might be a good time to change that one too.
3. Indexing plugs- now I haven't tried this, but supposily this helps. Mark the side on which the "open end" of the spark plug faces. Install them as you normally would, except when the plug is hand-tight (that is, you've screwed it in without a ratchet as far as it'll go), use your ratchet to tighten the plug until the open end of the plug, faces the intake side. Hey every little bit helps!
DD mods
1. Free ram air mod- done by removing the plastic from the bottom of the airbox so more air flows into your intake. Just make sure you leave the center "bar" or your filter will not stay in place. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...am_air_mod.htm
2. Throttle Body Port and Polish- you will notice this one, this is by far the best mod you can do for the buck. Its free, all you have to do is read a write up and own a dremel. Also make sure you do the TB bump stop mod. This is done by grinding the bump stop on the side of the throttle body, making it actually open up all the way.https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=520845&page=2
http://www.installuniversity.com/ins..._bump_stop.htm
3. TB bypass- done by removing the hoses that connect to the bottom of your throttle body, and connecing them together. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins.../tb_bypass.htm
4. Short Throw (for the 98-02 M6 cars) here's a cheap short throw for $25 shipped, I have one and I'd pay much more than that http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...a896f49c859b7b

I'm doing the seafoam for sure this spring when i get the car back out. Also I've read alot about pulling the air filter at the track helping out, haven't tried it yet myself but maybe another one to add to the dragstrip mods. Just remember to put it back in before you leave!

Do a search on Seafoam and read "Choco Taco's" write up its very informative and interesting, I think there are even a couple vids also. I do mine about every other oil change. Oil drains out pitch black!!. $.02

Free mods:
Ram Air- Cut the underneath part of the lower air box out!
TB coolant bypass: Just block it off.
Bump stop: Gring the bump stop on the throttle body so you can get the throttle body to open completely. Use an OHMS meter and jab positive terminal inside the blue wire at teh connector and the black side of the meter at ground. and keep on grinding the bump stop till when you go WOT the ohms meter reads .70. An actual 90* is .71 but you dont want to go to far, bc then you will have idling issues
.. I went to .69 .. hope that one makes sense. Just a cliff notes version.
lightweight free mods are:
Front/rear bumper supports.
and what you all said.
there ya go.

If you don't seafoam your car especially higher mile cars your a tard!
I have been using this stuff for years. I just did my 153,000 mile LS1 Formula and it was incredible how much gunk was in my motor/slash lines. Car ran like a top after a good seafoam/seafoam deep creep combo. Also removed the Air/EGR to help.

Indexing plugs does work but isn't really practical for anything that isn't a true race car. On a few of the race cars we've done this on we gain about 1-3hp but when you're deep into the single digits and money is on the line, EVERYTHING counts.
