auto cars always feel slow. they dont throw you around like a manual car. stall makes the car even slower.

What?! Maybe it makes the car FEEL slower. Besides, a car feels sluggish with a stall only at low RPMs.

If you want renewed faith in your car’s power do one simple thing, get in the passenger seat and let someone else go WOT with it. When you’re not in control then you realize how fast the car is. I took a ride in my buddies 98 Z28 and he took a ride in my Mach we both though the other’s car was alot faster but at the track they run identical times.

It’s also true about the engine being smoother tricking you. My buddies 15 second 90 LX vert feels faster than my car but that’s because the engine is a lot rougher and the suspension is loser so when you hit it you rock back and if feels like your getting thrown back harder same was true of my friends old Chevelle (15 second car).

I have the 2nd car DD mod, always makes the Kumharo seem faster.

Although after driving the Z for 3 days in a row, my F-150 feels like a luxury vehicle.

Yes, take a ride in the passenger seat. BIG noticeable difference. My car is a heads/cam car with a 228/232 and ported 243's, full boltons. I felt like it was quick, pretty good, but I expected a bit more. When I dropped the car back off at the shop for a clutch change, one of the mechanics gave me a ride back home in his WS6 6speed. He had bolt ons and a TR224 cam. We slowed down to 20-ish on the highway and he ran through 1st 2nd and 3rd. I felt like I was glued to the passenger seat, like one of those spinning carnival rides. I never felt like that in my car. When the clutch was set he drove my car a bit, and told me that he's in trouble and needs to hit the N2O if I ever got a tire on it that hooked. But it just didn't feel as fast in the driver's seat.

It is a disease. Kinda like an std, sucks to live with but fun to get.

because you don't have the steering wheel to hang on to, and you don't know exactly when the driver's gonna hit it, so it surprises you

i noticed that the stall made my car feel slower for sure...is it actually slower or does it just feel slower more than anything? i know it makes the motor less efficient....

Man, I just got into the 11's with my daily driver 98, So now you are telling me that's slow? I think a high 11 sec daily driver is still pretty impressive. It was a dog when I 1st got it, I bought it used, bone stock & 2.73 gears. I fixed that pretty quick..lol

i dont know about you, but my LS1 is fast as ****. But then again, i do know after a while you get used to it. That's how i got with my LT1 i had before.

Cars are like hot tubs. you get in them after a long day of work, and it seems like it's hot at first (kinda like your car). then after a while you get used to it, so you kick up a notch. Eventually you're going to get used to whatever you're in. Until you either get burned or you run out of option. With cars you either get arrested, killed, or run out of money.

Cars and hot tubs, who knew they had so much in common....

My car doesn't feel fast until I get in somebody elses and then I'm like "come on you POS" its like someone said earlier you get used to it and then you don't notice it until your in the passenger seat or you drive something else. I'll tell another car that feels slow is the GTO. I test drove one and was like WTF.... that's it. But they're pretty fast they're just smooth so its deceptive. My 290whp Subaru felt much faster than the T/A.

amen rockws6. It does always feel faster when you're in your passenger seat letting someone else drive. and my roommate's roush mustang is like the GTO. It is a very very "refined fast" and it rides like a Beamer but its fast. My WS6 is not quite as smooth on the road, and my LT1 you could feel every bump and rock on the road.

It's all about gearing and low end tq. honestly my SS felt a hell of alot faster than my turbo car but trapped like 15mph or more slower in the quarter lol. The z felt slow as **** with about 500rwhp

And word to the wise, to me atleast 500rwhp doesn't feel much different than 300....

rockws6 pretty much hit it... my buddy has an 05 goat, and he loves it when my TA does the first gear kick down, i don't think much of it anymore...(that and my car is slow)

But yea, the gto doesn't feel fast until you watch the speedo jump in leaps and bounds!
