Man, I don't know if anything will be fast enough for you. Maybe you can afford a veyron or even zr1, but if not, take the advice of C,S,N&Y, "If you can't be...with the one you love brotha, love the LS1 you're with"

Anyway, you're spoiled, back 20 years ago, your dollars would have gotten you 200hp.

You will definitely get used to whatever you drive and feel as though it isn't fast anymore lol I'm surpised at the cars I beat sometimes and then I ride with them and think their **** hauls ***....and mine beats them. So then I feel a little better bout my car

Drive a Denali 90 mph on the interstate and then drive your SS the same speed. You'll be reawakened with comfort of the Camaro... And safety.

Whenever I start to get used to my 00 WS6, I just take my girlfriends v6 camaro out for a while and that usually takes care of the problem.

ya you cant blame the ls1 in the price range i dont rly think you can do any better, but also look how well they respond to mods so you can easily make them faster, it doesnt matter if you have 900 horsepower youll get used to it but put someone who drives a slow car in the passenger seat and see what they say it makes me laugh everytime cuz it dont feel that fast to me, i agree the M6 feels faster, when i test drove a TA full exhaust lid A4 it looked and sounded great but to be honest i was disapointed when i went WOT 0-100.

When I drove my '01 SS on the Power Tour this passed summer I got used to the power because of all the days of consecutive seat time. When I got back though, and started driving my truck daily again, I was back to relearning both SS' each weekend when I would take 'em out for a blast. Even when I drove my '99 SS much more frequently, with just a lid and LM1, I was always very pleased with the car. Handled great for a stock car, reved freely, sounded awesome, and was comfortable to drive. My first LS1 was a new '02 WS6. That car blew my mind, and made me fall in love with the modern cars. My '05 Mustang GT was a car that bored me very quickly. I took delivery in Nov. '04, and the car was gone by March '05. The "look" of the car, and having one of the few '05 GT's on the street at the time was fun...but that all wore off quickly. I was not impressed with the drivetrain in the car at all...much improved for the '99-'04 GT's, but not was I was expecting. The car ran out of breath a little past 5 grand. The LS1 wants to rev, infact it begs to be reved. Having owned multiple f-bodies ruined my experience in the 'Stang. To me, the LS1 even stock is so good that it is a thrill to drive. To answer the initial question...no I don't get disappointed with my cars.
I had an

i feel the same way about my car until i either get out on the highway and play around a little bit or have to get in my dad's work car, the beast of a saturn 4 banger 5 speed haha... also, its a great feeling after all that time of feeling like your car is slow until you get a passenger with you haha... the other night i was drivin the car around and had a friend hop in with me... when i get all over it and the rear end slides out a little bit between first and second and my friend is lookin for something to hold on to, it makes you feel a lot better haha!

I wasnt that impressed when I initially test drove the car. To really feel it you need to be in the upper rpm's and at WOT. When I put the headers on I Really thought it woke it up. I loved that first drive after headers in the cold weather.

I drive a 94 Toyota Camry V6, so every time I get in my A4 Formula Firehawk it feels like lightning.

That's probably the only thing keeping me from getting bored with the automatic is having a DD. BTW my last toy was an M6 Trans Am with full bolt on's, and it felt WAY faster than the Firehawk. an SS3600, LT's, and a cam will change that, but I get bored VERY easily.

my girl was complaining that my car feels faster than it is (at 95mph with the top down).

the nitrous helps to put that warm fuzzy feeling back in place though.

I went from a 95 Chevy Z-71 pickup to my Z/28 and at first I thought it was fast as hell. Now I still think it is pretty quick but not like at first. I want to go faster and faster it seems lol.

This is very true. My Z28 M6 completely bores me compared to my 240SX. My 240SX only weighs in at 2600lbs. The fact that it's turbo means that little 2.0L goes from 130hp to 330hp in about 2000rpms. So it feels much faster than any F-body I've rode in. A buddy of mine has a '02 SS A4, full bolt ons and 150 shot of nitrous. I rode in the car when hit hit the shot and I wasn't really that impressed. Yet his car put out 415whp/465wtq which is almost 100 more horsepower than my 240SX puts out.

Like everyone else said it's because of the power curve. The FASTEST FEELING street cars are going to be those 4 cylinder turbo cars. This is because they go from low horsepower and torque numbers to high horsepower and torque within 2k RPMS. Because of this you feel the surge of the turbo kicking in, which deceptively feels faster than anything else.

One last thing. I also have a friend who has a bolt ons LS1 swapped into his 240SX putting out only 315whp/330wtq. His car feels awesome compared to my car. It's like full boost from idle to redline. I'm sure weight has a factor to when discussing the "feel" factor.

I agree, I think LS1's feel slow even though they really aren't. I miss my torquy LT1 to tell you the truth. I could get that thing sideways under 3/4 acceration in first gear (six speed). My LS1 speed doesnt do anything no matter how hard I hit it....maybe i need some more mods
