haha I feel at home in this thread. BOTH my sons LOVE riding in my bird. They always tell me to "spin tires". My brother drives a 93 Z28 also and they are ALWAYS pointing out the camaros, firebirds, firebird trans ams (they actually call them that), and corvettes. They also point out mustangs to but heh at least its american.

I waited until I was 38 to have kids. My wife decided it was time and I didn't say no so we now have two wonderful boys. Identical twins, thats what I get for making her wait. They are 16 months and I can't wait to get them in the garage and teach them about cars. I am all ready looking for a project we can work on together also. Kids are fun but I do miss the sleep I've lost but its worth it. Its cool that everyone shares the hobby with the kids.

Awesome thread, I can't wait to have kids. I learned most car stuff from my mom of all people and shes not a car person really. She had 4 older brothers so racing and cars was nothing she wasn't used to. She talked crap about my dad the way he took care of his cars, said she could smoke the tires his 67 GTO better than he could when they met. My dad picked up a 305 Firebird in 92 and my mom was the one that showed me "how to drive it." When I picked up my WS6 she HAD to drive it. T-tops off and everything she cruised down to Sonic to pick up some food and took down a Mustang GT on the way back. Keep in mind my mom is 65......

she is my 8 y/o stepdaughter who will ditch Saturday morning cartoons and Hanna Montana show to come help me even with the most mundane tasks on it, like washing the car, or just cleaning the rims. she put back all the wires herself-but left #7 injector plug a little loose-her mom is totally supportive of my car addiction and child labor aspirations. soon comes a heads cam swap, i may let her stab the cam i double check her work just in case so it makes installs take a little longer but well worth it.
When some 16 y/o chick asked me how to pump gas i told my daughter to go show her, the look on the other girls face was classic...
lol i just noticed she had on glasses that were apart of her costume for her school play.

Wow this reminds me of when I first picked up my car. Now I'm not a dad but I got the best one out there. When we went to pick it up I drove home first and mom and dad drive behind me in our truck. Half way home we stopped at a gas station and I let dad drive. When coming out of the one turn he down shifted and got on it a little, then he got this big smile on his face. I asked if it brought back memories of his Chevelle when he was younger. He smiled and just said o ya. I loved seeing my dad enjoying the American Muscle again.

Our first child is also do in July on the 10th. We are having a lil boy. Hopefully hes gonna love the rear wheel drive muscle cars as much as his dad. Funny thing is me and my dad were just talking about this stuff today at my nephews b-day party.
