This thread is unfucking believeable! Most people want the LS1 b/c, let me see...................................... ohh ya its way better. Its an upgrade and thats why even some people go through with the conversions in their LT1 cars, which btw I don't think is worth it after the hastle. Just go out and buy an LS1 and have a better all round car. They look WAY better too!

I agree that the LS1 is better, but I think that some of you guys with the LT1 mods should be spanking the stock LS1s. I had heads, mild cam, headers and exhaust with no tune in my 94 Z28 and beat stock LS1s all the time at the strip. No they didn't even begin to catch up or pull away at 25-50mph. By the way, I ran 12.8s @111.
Plus another point, I'm in my mid 30s and grew up at a time when GM was really putting out some shitty 305s! I few 350s, but they were still weak. We're talking 15 seconds in the quarter! So I fell in love with the LT1 in cause it was the first time GM put out anything worth a damn in years. OK, sorry ....getting off subject.

No offense or anything but isnt that what ricers do?? buy a piece of crap civic and make it fast to suprise people. Anyway buy the ls1 its a better engine and car. You'll still be able to suprise people with an ls1 except youll be suprising vipers and c5's (with a few mods ofcourse) instead of suprising ls1's.

No comparison. I had a 96 ws6 and it was a good car besides the opti problems. As far as power it would never touch my ls1.

as far as times go, ET is dependent on a lot of things.

You don't have to have ungodly hp to run a good time at the track. A good combo of traction and power can do wonders.

Add the same traction and mods to an ls1 and odds are that ls1 based car will do better.

IMO the LS1 is not worth the 10-13k more. I keep up just fine with the Ls1's and it would take one w/ decent mods to beat me. Oh ya, sorry but the LT1 is much better looking. No ugly fish-eye's or lines running up the Ram Air hood.
yea you got your LT1 for a good deal but who said you have to spend 10k more???? i got my ****** car for 7,900 with 77,000 miles! and think about it! if u really think your saving money, which engine makes more power mod for mod?? i also really loved the LT1's at first because they were an upgraded version of the most popular 350 motor! but mod for mod it wont take the LS1 camaro much to make it 400WHP maybe a cam and LT's but for the LT1 i think your going to need way more then that! lol im not even going to say anything about you likeing the LT1 body more then the LS1 body !! keep that to your self please

So where did you get ricer from? So you dress your LS1 up w/ mods to be a Viper or a corvette? So I guess that makes you as faster ricer then me huh? OBTW..nice ricer.

And as for you "ae13291" nobody said a LT would take a LS1 mod for mod..that's a no brainer big guy. The LS1 as we all know takes to mods better. Wow..read my reply a little closer next time.

I have been wanting to buy a Vette for a while and have driven L98/LT1/LT4/LT5/LS6/LS2/LS1 Vette's. The L98 really feels strong right off the line and then die off. The LT1's have a nice hit when you mash the pedal so it makes them feel faster initially than the LS1. The bottom line is the LS1 is much more progressive and has no problem with the right mods revving to 7k rpm.

Haha there is so much hating on the LT1s, I feel you get more respect when you build up an inferior motor that could put down some really good numbers. Dont get me wrong I love the LS1 motor but I would rather stick with the LT1.

..........Let me just start off by saying some of you guys are being plain out retarded. Agree'd an ls1 is an AWESOME motor, but come on, what kind of "racer" are you if you're racing a STOCK motor and think it's the ****>?? An Ls1 would need more than just a couple mod's to beat a new CO6 Vette. The Lt1 motor is a great motor, believe me, i've seen a modded LT1 kick the living **** out of ANY car its come against, (and they were some very impressive cars) when i say "mod's" i mean, its got some pretty impressive add on's (dyno'd at over 650hp, at the wheels) and let me add by saying, i've kicked *** in both a Ls1 and an Lt1 and its soo much more entertaining looking at the expressions on ppl's faces when you beat their *** with a "slow" LT1. C'mon guys, if you're buying a "race" car for the stock motor, you're no better than the dick heads who drive their Mustangs around town in their stock GT's, revving their motors at any Rice out there willing to run against their "super" machines.(Nothing against those serious Mustang racer's, I'm talking about the one's who are just completely retarded and oblivious to what it takes to be a "racer" )As far as LS1 cars looking better, it's a matter of opinion, Lt1 cars can/do look just as good, and with the right amount of money, both car's can look a hell of a lot better, its all about the $$$, and if you have it to put into either an ls1 or an lt1, then put it in there, if you dont have the money to do so, then don't be slammin on those who do, you put you're money, however much it may be into your car, and let everyone else do the same without u tellin them how stupid you think it is.
