I got a lil over 12k on my Z28. Bought it 2 yrs ago with 8,100 on her. I initially drove it every good weather day I could, but now she's a garage queen and will be staying that way. I just love getting into a brand new 6yr old car

I dont intend to sell it at all unless I absolutely had to due to finances. If i do decide to have the cam, headers, y-pipe done and maybe 3.73 gears (i have a M6), I plan on having Mikey at Rapid Motorsports do it and plus I'd keep all the stock parts so I could put it back. I kinda do agree about a car being worth more if it's unmolested but u can tell if a car is done right and if its been run hard. Ive never even burned the tires on mine. Id love to have another t/a to drive more and play around with but that wont be for a long while. I love how the gmmg sounds with the headers and cam added so thats why im considering it. I do hate the idea of tearing into it tho but the sound and having the hp there when u want it is pretty sweet and would def turn heads at a car show. I guess the saying is "its only stock once"

I bought my 02 SS with 13k on it, I bought it to be a garage queen. And it's there except for good weather. It now has 23k on it, I hate racking up the miles but damn, I just can't help myself. How do you guys do it?

Bought mine new in april 2002 with like 27 miles on her. Now it has 27k miles, the first 3 years of having I drove it a lot cause my DD was a piece of crap and didn't trust it going out of town. Since I bought a new truck I only put about 3k miles on per year. I would drive it more but I want to keep it low miles and the fact I have to move 2 other cars out of the way to get it in and out of the garage is a pain. Can't wait to get a house with a larger garage....then maybe I can get the new Camaro when it comes out so I can have something to beat on and not feel bad about it.

I have 2 of the "Type A" and 2 of the "Type B" F-bodies.
Type A's:
1994 Z28 with 74K miles. LOW miles for a '94, but I have owned the car since '95. It has been a daily driver for a few periods in its life, but most of the miles got put on a 1/4 at a time. Actually racked up a lot of miles driving to and from tracks. I have never lived super close to a track, and out of the 100 or so times (guesstimate) it has gone to the track , about 90 times it got driven there and back.

1999 Z28 with 55K miles. This was my weekday daily driver from mid 2003 to mid 2006 and I picked it up in spring of '03 with 39K already on the clock. Still in great shape and very rare car (BBM paint and a stripper). I parked it in summer of '06 when I bought my truck. Have plans to do a few more bolt-ons and bring it back out on the street because I miss it and miss enjoying it.

Type B's
2001 SS with Vortech V9G kit and 13K miles on it.
2002 Z28 with Procharger D-1SC kit and 10K miles.

Both of them are "garage queens". Never been in rain. Never spent a night outside in their lives. Interiors still have the new car small and engine compartments and undercarriages are wiped down regularly. People freak out when they take a close look at them because they are both in (nearly) showroom condition. OK, showroom if superchargers were bolted on at the factory.
However, as you can see they still have some miles. I would not buy a car that I felt I absolutely could not drive. They go to car shows and meets and cruises regularly and the '02 has been to the track 3 times. Basically they don't see any "mundane" driving duties. They only come out of the garage on beautiful days and they are only driven for "enthusiast" reasons.. not for commuter duties and not to pick up groceries.

It looks like there are very few members with less than 10,000 miles. Must be very few of them around or they just don't belong to this forum.

That's why you need to have more than one!

Now that I have my '02 driver, I never feel bad about not driving my '98 regularly.

That is exactly how I feel, and the way I treat my '98. However, I did once stop at a grocery store on the way home from a car show with my '98, to get a drink. I parked the car about 500 feet away from the nearest other car, and ran through the store as fast as I possibily could

That is pretty much the way I treat mine. It is great to have a new car that is not being built any more.

You guys kill me. I drive me Z every chance i get... Yeah ill take my R6 out to and from work to cut the miles down a little, but if its nice out ... and i know there will be little traffic... its on. The car is just so much fun to drive, i couldnt fathom leaving her in the garage for months. Just going away on vacation i miss driving her.

Unless i was collecting a car strictly for future re-sale, i wouldnt be able to let her sit in the garage. Thats like having a hot girlfriend that you dont want to 'wear out'. haha.

The fun i have driving that car is worth more then the difference in price from when i bought it to when i sell it.

Just my .02
