How many LS1's with less than 10,000 miles
I am wondering how many members have cars with less than 10,000 miles. How important do you think low miles are on resale value?

I only have 11k......
Miles are very important. This car still has new car smell left, that helps resale a ton. I got a great deal on this car to. I paid much less than it could have gone for. Thats why if I do have to get rid of the car for some reason, I can make my money back plus more. Low mileage is a better investment. The car only had 8k when I bought it by the way.

I used to be in the "under 10k mile" club. But my '98 has 14k miles now.
However, I'm going to look at a 6k mile Camaro shortly. So maybe I can get back in the club.

It's obviously important for resale value, but I try to keep away from being such a "mile snob". It's easy to get picky about racking up miles, but you need to look back and realize you buy cars to drive and have fun with. That's just my take on it.

But you have to remember that there are TWO types of fun:
Type A: Driving/cruising/racing your F-body every chance you get. Always having plenty of power on tap, feeling a constant connection to the hobby, and never being bored behind the wheel. Makes even the most mudane task seem fun (going to work, the store, etc.).
Type B: Having a low mileage, mint condition show car that people drool over at car shows. Something that only leaves the garage on a perfect weather day, that still smells like a new car, and drives like you just brought it home from the dealer. Nothing like pulling into a car show with a 10 year old car that's in better shape than most 10 month old daily drivers. And since the car is rarely used, it'll stay near perfect for decades to come, and it'll always be a special experiance to drive or see it.
Now, let me tell you that I've spent the better part of my time in this hobby in the "Type B" category. Just last year, I finally bought a higher mileage LS1 as a driver, so I could also enjoy "Type A" fun. I can honestly say that BOTH types are a blast, and I can't pick just one that I would prefer.
So my best advice is - have at least two of these cars. A low mile garage queen, and one to actually use on a regular basis.

Sounds like great advice. I have one with 4,500 miles on it now I just need to find the one for regular use. Unfortunately living in Michigan I only get to drive it part of the year.

Well I had a Camaro SS with 6,000 miles but I sold it. I guess I just use my z28 for daily driving now but sadly she is going to break the 30,000 k mark. It still smells like new though.

live life enjoy it while it lasts! my car 85k miles now! i beleive if somebody that babies there car and worries about everything, usally have bad luck, as in somebody will key there car for no good reason, or a cart hits there car in a parking lot, or even worse an accident! but i can understand some of the people that respect what they drive and know th proper way it should be treated
