Default Help me make my summer list!

Well, I'm looking at some upgrades and want opinions. Give me suggestions on what im looking for, and please list how much the $$ are of them.

So far I'm looking at a new cam, but I want something that will give me a good jump in power, yet if driven normally, not affect gas mileage (I will be getting a dyno tune as well after all of this).
Headers, maybe kooks or something, give me suggestions on longtube headers.
Give me suggestions on pipes I need, I have a dmh cutout So if i need to get rid of my I pipe I need to know that so I can put it on the new pipes. Let me hear what you guys have to say.

Cam = 224 112 or 114 $500-600 roughly for springs/cam/pushrods
headers = American Racing, Hookers, Qtps, Pacesetters depending on how you want to spend $1400-$500 for headers/ypipe
and a Torque arm, lower control arms, relocation brackets, panhard bar to stick the power to the ground....sayyyy $500 for all of that suspension.

oh and dont forget a tune $300-500.

^ i agree. i would say spend the extra money and get Kooks or ARH headers and Y. The TR224 cam is a tried and true cam. Prices above are pretty accurate

The header's listed by 1Loudz28 are all great. If you got the money to spend, get tha Kook's but the Pacesetter's are probably your best bet if your working with a low budget.

Do the suspension part's suggested as well, i know ill be doing that after some small mod's and some appearance mods.

i would get pacesetters over kooks. great quality with little to no power difference for half the price.

i also would get the pacesetters because that is more money to put into suspension and other mods that would yeild a mild/medium cam car a better gain.

Alright then I would probably go for pace, unless I find kooks around the forums for cheap. What about cam? any good DD cams you would recommend? I was thinking of a ms3

Do you really think you will be getting good mpg after your cam install?Your right foot will be in it all the time, with a smile on your face of course.I would go with something a little bigger than a 224 grind.

u can daily drive the ms3, however ive seen cars that surge alot at idle with it, and you lose a lot of low rpm power with it. however it does make great numbers and youll definitely happy with it if you want big power in your daily driver.

and if you get pacesetters, get coated. my painted ones (yes, i was on a budget argh) got to me rusting slightly.

What are the ms3s rated at? If I got pacesetters and that cam. Would I expect a good close to 400hp range?

i bet you'll be just under 400rwhp with an MS3, full exhaust, lid, LS6 intake and tune.

I checked and the redline for a ms3 is like 6800 it seems, I have stock heads and would be going up to 6000, is there any other cams that give a good gain, sound mean, and are more comparable with stock heads and setup that you guys would suggest?

I'd like to know too. I getting a cam this summer as well.

To answer your questions I would go with pacesetter headers and ory and whatever catback you choose.

http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...d=164&catid=44 This cam seems perfect for stock components, 1200-6200 is great! It says the gains are around 30hp though. That with some headers and pipes, do you think id be close to 400?

No, its a pretty small cam by todays standards. Why are you so worried about your stock heads, any cam will work with stock heads.Bunch of cam-only cars around here.

Yea but my redline is 6000.. not 7000 like these big cams. So if the power band doesn't start till like 2500 and it peaks at 6500 or something, I CANT EVEN REV that high so whats the point of it.
