Adding a cutout to my old 00 Z28 netted me 9rwhp/9rwtq, so pretty good bang for the buck.

You can put where ever you find a suitable spot, but the most common location is right behind passenger seat. There's a ice little cubbe right there.

I used to have one right off of each header before I had cats and it sounded AWESOME. It gained like 1 RWHP and lost a slight bit of low end torque but it sounded incredible.

It's one of these. When you open the cap up it allows the exhaust to bypass the muffles and the remaining length of pipe after it.

interesting, expensive..no...full exhaust, yes. What classifies a cut-out being crap, seriously? It is a perfect setup if one doesn't want to throw down a lot of money on exhaust and it gives you great gains for just "cutting" a hole in your I pipe. So it being crap and expensive just makes you sound ignorant if you have nothing to back it up with.

I lol'ed at this post, Cutouts are CHEAP, think about it this way, would you rather pay $900 for a borla catback or $200 for a e-cutout that probably is easier to install, has more gains even as your car grows in power the gains become bigger, and sounds louder. How the **** could you go wrong? When people say these kind of things it shows that they have no idea what there talking about. But by all means if you wanna go spend your grand on a catback muffler then go head because people with cutouts wont hear you over them lol.

i don't know about power i need to get to a dyno. but it was worth $200 to me cause it sounds so badass. i put a magnaflow c\b on my car because it flows good farily quiet and i did not want the police effing with me. now i have an adjustable sound level.
funny thing happpened i've been wanting a go at a new body style mustang so i get my chance we are lined up at a stop light on a limited acess 4-lane with no traffic he shoots a couple revs sounded good it had some pipes under it. so i open the cut out and send a couple back light goes green i guess he changed his mind.

had a good laugh when I read this one. Out of all the catbacks they make for our cars, only true dulas will flow better than a cutout. I have an e-cutout wich is places on the i pipe before the muffler. And a manual cutout can be had for a mere 60 bucks in some places and will still out perform the rest of them. Even my electronic cutout only cost me about 150. I have raced dozens of catback/lid only m6 ls1's in my cutout /lid a4. They have had gmmg, magnaflow, lm1, lm2, borla, corsa, slow-master, and I have still walked. My car lid only gave me 13.2 my cutout helped me into the 12's. I like the old saying of "the best muffler is no muffler". The low end torque you loose is hardly noticable and the more mods the better the cutout. Not to mention at WOT it sounds like hell on wheels.

a lot of the users get it for sound, some for few extra numbers. me, personally, would install an electric cutout behind EACH header. setting off car alarms is fun when you're at 900rpms.

I put a SS catback on it with a cutout..I LOVE it when its opened it sounds very good and deep. And its nice to cause i can close it when i want it quiet...Best of both worlds IMO
