c5 Zo6 or whipple cobra?

You can get a used one for cheaper then that.... Some guys on svtperformance have sold KBs for around $2k. Then if he sells the stock parts, he will get some money back for them, so after everything is said and done, he could very well be around $3500.... 60lb injectors and a boost-a-pump will be sufficient enough....

A vette handles alot better, and is just about as fast ( its almost 600lbs lighter ). The cobra is a nice car as well. With the vette, you might get a little more leniency from the police, as they see it as an "old man" car.

The cobra's make good power and even better bolt on power. But the vette with less power is still quicker, faster and better handling. Not to mention the differnce between a vette and a pony car in the looks department. And I don't mean it's looks either. The vette gets em wet!!! Not saying a girl wouldn't dig a Cobra just saying a lot more are gonna like the vette. Comparing a vette to a lower end car is kina unfair. Plus LSX power is awesome, once you get into real mods and past all the bolt on garbage the Cobra is gonna outmatched.

From all the vids ive seen, the cobra can have 100 hp or more and still lose to the Z06. they are light, aerodynamic, and handle like super champs. my friend has a 02 Z06 with a Kenne Belle charger. that car is nothing short of bad-***** f-in ***. If i had the money, i wouldnt even consider the cobra. Although, cobras can be cool if done right.

If they are both close in price then I would def lean towards the Z06. It is a much better overall setup as everyone has stated. Plus if they are similarly priced the 3500 you would spend on the whipple + extra for supporting mods could easily be spent on a cam (g5x3 comes to mind), plus headers, orx (keep stock catback as it flows extremely well), and then a full tune and you would have a car almost as fast or as fast as the cobra while having a much lighter/better handeling car to boot. If you can get a sweet deal on a cobra then there is nothing wrong with going that route but if not then z06.

it takes a ford a supercharger to keep up with the corvettes and f-body's now imagine if the corvettes came out with sc stock. plus the cobra's only displace 4.6 litres and you know there is no replacement for displacement

03 Cobra all the way if you have never had one but ONLY if youre gonna go Whipple and serious boost. Pick up a modded KB/Whipple solid axle Cobra for $23-25K. No more mods needed but extra boost.
Easier to mod
Easier to fix
Easier to maintain
Easier to live with as a DD or race car
Easier to make a real street terror
I have a C6 now and had a KB Cobra before. Its gonna take $$ to run with a well tuned/driven KB Cobra. PM me for any more insight.
Enjoy.
