Default Poll: Are F-bodies visually withstanding the test of time??

It has almost been 7 years since the last F-body rolled off an assembly line. We've seen the Corvette and Mustang remodeled. A new Dodge Charger platform and remodels from all of the F-bodies foreign competitors. How well do you think F-bodies have visually withstood the test of time?

IMO only recently do I feel that my Trans Am looks "old". When it sat next to my friend's C6 the other day it looked like a boat. But, I still love the way it looks and remains one of the fastest cars on the road.

I think the look is pretty modern actually. Definitely fits in with the other new cars that are rolling off of the assembly line.

I'd say they're holding up pretty well against new cars today. I think my TA looks great still even though its 8 years old

Depends how you keep up with it. The LS1 Trans Am is still my favorite car on the road.

once the new ones roll out then they will start to become a little dated, but who cares?

Some of the F-bodies will always be bad-looking cars. They'll be first 1st Gens of tomorrow.

Very true. I think 4th gen F-bodies have looked fresh for so long b/c a new model hasn't hit the roads to make it seem outdated. IMO when C6's came out, C5's began to look really dated not to long thereafter.

We're all a bit biased here when it comes to these cars, but IMO they still look great.

GM designers really hit the nail on the head with them. I getcomplimints on mine all the time, and whenver I see one it turns my head.

I absolutley love the lines of the Pontiacs. I think the Formula is cleaner, but the T/A, esp. WS6, is a mean looking car.

Like I said, I'm biased, but I can't walk away from my car without turing my head to look back at it, and when I'm at home every once in a while I sneak a glance at it out the window. I live on the 2nd florr, and my kitchn overlooks the driveway. Ever see a 'Bird looking directly down on it from up high? DAMN sexy.

I like the Z's too. I find the stock Z's a bit boring visually, but a few simple mods really bring them to life, and the stock SS is a damn clean looking car. Subtle, yet muscular. You can't ever accuse a WS6 of being subtle!!

Actually, although each generation has a few excpetions, I think ALL the F-Bods still look great.

Good point. Good thing we'll never have that problem.

I feel bad for all the Camaro guys getting asked all the time when they're going to get a new one, and having thier cars referred to as "old".

I think it looks awesome. It's kind of a "rare" car. There is a lot of "junk" on the road and to be frank I don't like a majority of all the new cars coming out. Why would you say it looks dated?

I parked next to a black roush mustang not long ago and I have to admit for the first time I thought the WS6 looked old ! I think the wheel and tire size made the cars look like cars from different eras

Compared to newer cars, they do look a bit dated, but that doesn't take away from them. Newer cars seem bigger and bulkier. If you park next a new Challenger etc. you will notice that 4th gen F-bodies look very small and slim.

True, but even if there is a 25% vote of it being outdated, it means that much more in a biased environment.

B/c even the newest 4th gen F-bod is almost 7 years old.

Another good point. Most new cars come with wheels in 18" or 19". Obviously you can buy a new set, but a set of 17inchers look dated no matter what the style IMO.

I voted for its beginning to looked outdated. My favorite styling of any car is still the WS.6 and will probably always be. IMO most well kept up F-Bodies don't look old by their exterior but their interior is garbage compared to new competitors. I don't mind my interior, but I probably wouldn't even buy a camaro b/c of its interior. The Gauge cluster/Dash and Seats seem way to old to me esp. if it hasn't been taken care of.
