Default i need to ship my block....how?

ok, i work at a commercial site, so loading/unloading isn't a problem. i've got a LSX block i need to ship to HKE in Houston, TX, i live in Joplin, MO....the CHEAPEST quote i've been able to get is ~$350.

i bought this block back in march of this year. i paid just under $140 to have it shipped from Indianapolis to Joplin....WTF???!!!!!?!?!?!

it seems to me like it can be done cheaper, i mean, i can DRIVE there and back for $350 or less and deliver the damn thing myself

the price difference is probably a surge charge on fuel. which sucks but they are all gonna be doing it with diesel as expense as it is.

thanks dude, cheapest quote i've found so far. that's about what i was looking/hoping to pay. the "no liftgate fee" is saving me a bundle, that's what was killing me. the shop i'm using doesn't have a loading dock apparently and that's what was going to hurt me most likely.

i payed $140 to have the block shipped to me from indianapolis last march/april....cheapest quotes i got today were $300+

i got mine take care of last week. FedEx freight picked it up. $140 even

the liftgate fees are what suck. find out if the place you're shipping to needs one or not, everywhere i looked the fee was $130 and up, WAY UP....fuel surcharges are gay, but not THAT bad...

I shipped my LS1 block via UPS ground for about 80 bucks from NC to Iowa. Doubt that will work for a LSX block, but if it weighs under 150 pounds (the aluminum LS1 block did) you could throw it in a cardboard box and call it a day (with lots of packing of coarse).
