Default Did F-body prices just take a **** or what?

I remember last year, the average value of a low mile 02 was around 13.5 to 15K. Now it seems even rich people are only offering like 9 or 10K most for a MINT car. WTF is that? I wish I never bought mine as I paid 15K for it last summer

I don't think so... I think the market of V8 buyers has got gotten drastically smaller, meaning people know they can offer less and desperate owners might take it, but having just gotten out of the buyers market these cars are still selling for a nice price.

You can always find good deals out there if you wait and keep looking, look at lt1 cars it seems like they went up in the last year

you have to see the cars in person, Id only offer 10k for a car if I thought the guy before ran it hard or it wasnt spotless.15k is alot ,especially if you want to mod it out too. I paid 13.5 for mine w 32k miles w/new pzeros, sfc and a few other upgrades 3 yrs ago so your well bought Id say depending on mileage.

i think it has to do with gas prices. people think V8 muscle car and think poor mileage when we actually get pretty darn good mpg.

theyd rather have a honda

Something is only worth as much as a person is willing to pay for it. Also factor in general other similar cars and the "going rate"

Economy, Price of Fuel, and avalible options are now more of a factor.

C5's prices took a dump when c6's came out.

The only reason why 4th gen cars have held a decent price was there hasnt been a gen 5 car in over 6 years.

If you have a low milage 98 with good options I can still see it going for over 10k.

Get a 110k+ mile car its going to impact the price.

Have you been living in a cave the last year? Are you not aware of the high gas prices and the state of the economy?

Yeah i paid 9k even for my 99 T/A with 78k about 4 months ago the guy was asking 10,900. I just bought a 92 accord base model for $500, drove the car a week and sold it for $3,200 no bullshit.

I was noticing the same thing the other day, it seems ls1 prices have taken a pretty drastic hit whereas the lt1 cars have risen a little bit.

speaking of people "VIEWING" these muscle cars as gas guzzlers, I actually got near the same HWY MPG in my last 98 410rwhp T/A (26mpg) as I did in my 94 Honda Accord 4 cyl (26-29mpg). in town, about 14 vs. 22. that was the only difference maker. and guess what, the 98 T/A was running great @ 110k miles when I sold it and the Honda... well, it's been sitting for almost 2 years awaiting an overhaul at 126k miles.

Hate to say it, but I just bought my 00 Formula south of 3k. It was hit in the left front but just minor, new fender and bumper made it nice.

Your right ls1s have gone down a couple k. My LT1 WS6 seems to be holding value.

it really depends on your location/ state. around here they seem to be holding the same value as the last few years. every now and then a 110,000mi auto car pops up for 4-6k but most are still looking for 10k or more in only fair shape. belive me I have been looking for a 5k ls1 for the wife and the only ones I find are pretty much best for keping the driveline only (not for that price though)

I was looking at a 3rdgen vert for her but those are going up in price now.

used cars in general went up in value though. cheap beaters are a thing of the past. you want a beater your not getting one for a couple hundred anymore.

in my area of pa prices are still up on the ls1 cars but they don't want to deal. I want to trade my 98 m6 ttop with good mods for a navy or sunset orange ss and every dealer thinks if it says ss it's worth a mint. Hell I hope the gas price drives the price of these cars down then we afford to buy more of them. "More meat for the meat eaters"(dennis leary)

Pretty much sums it up. at $4-$4.50 for a gallon of gas, there are far less potential buyers of these cars than a few years ago.
