Most of those dudes would sweep the street with my TA, let alone your laser, and I am making significantly more power than you are on motor alone. Of course that is when your on LOW BOOST Right

Moral of the story, wrong site for you to be looking for a race

And about defending the imports, I don't know if you have read the paper lately but this is a DOMESTIC SITE. Not to mention, last time i checked plymouth was located in Auburn Hills, Michigan (read not foreign made) and hasn't made a car since 2001. And BTW, although we are all impressed you slapped a turbo on grandma's grocery getter, FYI lasers were never intended to be sports cars. They came with 190hp and looked like this

Other than that, Feel free to stay, learn, post, and browse but don't get your panties in a bunch everytime somebody makes an import comment.
pretty sure thats an escort and a laser looks like this

and i think he thinks its foreign because its a dsm and powered by mitsubishi. And btw they came with turbo's from the factory. Not tryin to get into an argument, just tryin to help with some facts

I had someone tell me at work yesterday that his stock GTI would beat my firehawk. I laughed, told him he was a dumbass, and walked away.

I know that ricers post dyno sheets, but we don't race dynos here...we
post ET's.

I'm sure you know that you posted a graph that most of us here would
consider embarrassing.

thats cool. Honestly, i had never heard of it so I just googled it ant that was the photo that came up. After some further research (read one more click of the mouse) it appears as if they are in fact a DSM. Actually cooler than I thought, but none the less not anything to write home about.

Whats really funny as (according to wikiapedia) they were similar to the dodge stealth. My first car was a Dodge stealth TT.
Was decently quick and w/ the turbo upgrade (twin 15gs i believe) put down right around 420 awhp if i recall correctly. was actually a cool car, until one day it became very very very hot

Then I turned ls1 and never looked back.

Seems to be a pattern with people...stupidity that is. You can spot it coming a mile away because the sentence **always** starts with, 'yeah, my buddy's got...". I'd like to meet these 'buddies' who all apparently 'got' 1500hp small blocks that run 7 seconds 'on motor.'

these are all pretty funny stories, but not quite as good as this guy I was talking to at a party one time...

I tell him about my LS1 S10 and he tells me about his stock 4WD 97 dakota x-cab (not R/t even)...LOL

he says it runs 14's right now and if he took the 4" lift kit off of it (looks stock height to me) it would run low 13's... I just smile and nod...

I want whatever he is on...

I hear that, reliability is the key. Occassionally I will run into an import that i would consider reasonably fast, like that dude with the laser probably runs ok even though i gave him ****. But there cars either 'just got' fixed or are 'about to break'. And damn, those parts are expensive. Talk about $500 dollar this and $300 dollar that. Pretty soon you just spent more to repair the POS that it was worth in the first place.

Yes yes yes yes...and some more yes to that. I had a big turbo honda, that would go through transmissions like paris hilton goes through hand bags And not to mention, for the price I paid to have my bottom end built in my honda (5500) I could have had one way nastier turbo ls1 if I would have been smarter lol. I loved my honda because it gets alot of unsuspecting people that dont think a 4 cyl can make power.

I guess you can always have that sleeper factor. Nice ET by the way, not too many hondas in the 9s. Got any pics?

Off topic a bit but there is a guy around here running an Accura Integra turbo in the mid/low 10's trapping 135+ and I think it's cool as ****. He pulls up, pops his trunk and does weight reduction ie. takes out his tools and spare parts Mainly axle shafts. Thing pops like a **** when he shifts and sounds like an Uzi going off. Not real fast off the line but once he spools and gets traction it screams To me a badass car is a badass car no matter what as long as it doesn't have a Ford badge

Yeah...the idiots can be frustrating. Usually they think their car is sooo fast because it's lighter, or they just have NO clue about the LS1. So rather than get pissed I tell them that I have a gambling problem, and I want to race for money.

I'd rather turn a profit from them than get angry!

I think most people are more willing to inform people that have some humility about it and ask questions in a respectful manner. Other than that, I feel what your saying.

They get so embarrassed and leave. But if the kid is willing to sit there and listen and learn something. Then teach him, There was a kid I knew who thought that the exhaust can he just put on his car gave him 10hp. I started talking to him and telling him about how to see any real gains what so ever he would have to spend a little money and get a cat back or a full exhaust system.

where the **** did you come from and can't you read?

talk about someone out to "prove" something...jeez...you're the one who came in trying to stir the ricer pot
