Default key left to the on position

What happens if you leave the ignition key to the on position, right before it starts the car for more than 10 minutes (besides killing the battery?)

If your car was stone cold your could ruin the oxygen sensors if you started
it before you let them cool down. I guess the mosture in the exhaust
hitting a hot sensor kills them.

I think he's asking along the lines of whether the fuel pump is running or coils are heating up, that kind of thing. Basically, what are the differences between ACC and ON in terms of what's running.

It won't run the battery down entirely, i haven't tried it but im pretty sure the computer has a cutoff where it shuts everything off if the battery gets too low. At least that's what my mom's 01 Gran Prix did, i figure they're kinda similar.

Yeah, curious if the coils would heat up and burn out if left on too long. I guess from what I hearing, no one really is sure. Thanks for the input.

O2 sensors have heaters to help get them up to operating temp faster. Ive never heard this though, and I leave cars on for extended periods of time for diagnostics on a regular basis.
