ok so here is the latest. i finally got someone to do a walk around. apparently a ******* shed flew into my car. the damage is as follows..
t-top passenger side, smashed
windshield cracked, bad
bumper scratched
door scratched
a-bar behind t-tops, dented and scratched
driver 1/4 scratched and dented
interrios got very vet but not the 3 foot of water i said..
interior, headliner, seats, carpet, etc
so here are my questions
first off i called my ins company and they said if the damage is under %80 of the value of the car they will not total it out. is that 8g worth? remember it has to include labor. any rough estimates? what kind of eletronics are messed up. ECU? how do they hold out with water? personaly i wouldlike to get the cash and fix it myself. if they do total is out how much could i buy it back for? ive never done that before....

doesnt look too bad from the pics. depends what is growing under the carpet. i work at a dealership and we have a lot of water intrusion. usually people dont even know about it. we usually just pull the carpet, disinfect it and let it dry for a couple days. should give you enough time to sort out the rest of the ****. itll be fine...

Yea, aim a heavier shed at it next time![Punch](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_punch.gif)
No, I'm sorry about all that and the car. You serve our country and look what happens, just doesn't seem fair.
It doesn't look that bad though, problem is you can't see water damage til you tear into it.
Good Luck.

I can get you some new t-tops if you need them. Doesnt look to bad, the ecu is in the engine compartment so I dont think you would have any issues with that. The wiring for the driver seat runs under the carpet so it might need to be checked out really well. This can all be fixed, dont give up on her. Good thing is I dont see any standing water...

The hump on the passenger floor board is for the catalytic converter on the V6 models.
The ECM is in the engine compartment, passenger side, in between the wheel-well and the firewall.
The BCM however is inside the car. Just behind the glovebox if I recall correctly.
Should be less than 8K damage, but if you "want" it to get totaled (uncertainty of the damage done is a good reason), bring it to a dealership, and have them give a quote. It's most likely going to be more than 8K then.....

Insurance companys are cheap. They will not replace anything that doesn't need to be replace. They would def. fix something before the replace. Insurance is such a scam. It's your car and your money, so you should get what you want. Good luck man. It won't hurt to push issues. It's your car.

TOTAL BS. Tell them the car needs to be fixed like it was before the flood and that won't get it. That is your legal right. The car needs to be made as it was before the flood and just that will not make it right. I personally would argue it will never be the same and argue it should be totaled and and then look at your options.
