Default I'm an idiot.

So a little over a month ago I got sick of the Formula nickel and diming me and gas prices and traded it in on a certified preowned 08 grand prix GT fully loaded - leather, xm, sunroof, etc with 10k miles. My payment dropped $100 and my insurance was cut in half. I drive about 30 min to work everyday so I'm loving trips to the gas station these days, however......

I miss my car so f'in bad. I have dreams about it. There is no excitement in a grand prix. Its a great daily driver but it looks like I will quickly be coming back to the f-body family. I need a toy, I didn't think the itch would hit me this hard and so quickly after selling my LS1. Im still gonna keep the GP as a DD but am currently bagging my monthly bonuses from work and gonna do a third gen project or something. It SUCKS. If any of you guys are considering letting your baby go please CONSIDER THE CONSEQUENCES! To hell with gas prices and maintenance...these cars won't be around forever!

High-powered RWD V8's are like heroin, the withdrawal is a monster.

Well if you have a project car you can't drive it either until its done. Which will probably be next year if you have a family and a house. Make sure your car is a manual for you get decent gas mileage instead of that A4 sucking it all up. For awhile there I was very very close to putting my ws6 up for sale. I quickly backed down when the thought of driving a weak v6 or 4 banger and having nothing for the weekends. So I'm keeping the t/a for a DD until I can afford a beater.

yea for real. just get whatever is more fun for you, a4 or m6. if you dont drive it every day screw gas mileage lol.

i have almost sold mine 3 times. first time was a couple years ago, i was going to trade a guy for a nice 95 lt1 6speed trans am to save money, but the deal didnt go through. that actually wouldnt have been such a bad move. i had it in auto trader a few months later, and after the first couple of calls i decided against it. third time was here a few months ago, was going to go trade it in on a new cobalt ss but after seeing how much money i'd lose in the long run with financing i backed out again. so i think i'm keeping it for good now. i have some plans for her in the future, just need the money lol.

GP's are good cars, but definately not an LS1. Keep saving your money and get the toy that you want.

I had a Grand Prix GTP. Supercharged. It was fun, good on gas, and really fast. I had it until I found a LS1 (for free) that needed a rebuild. So I put that in my 84 TA and sold the GP. LS1's kick ***.

Not to sound like I have baller cash. But, I always have a weekend car. Now I have the Camaro and the Lexus is the DD.

+ I have a 07 F250 for work. I can't stand DD my nice car, it sucks. When the wife wrecked our last DD car, she had to drive my z28 for a week, it just freaked me out.

I bought my Formula over the summer when gas was like $4.30 for regular.. And I had soo many people tell me "Why would you get a V8 with these gas prices".. It got soo annoying! Yes, it goes through gas like there is no tommrow (gotta love the A4 LT1's!!), but its completely worth it IMO.

I wish you good luck finding another F-Body, and hope you get a kick *** deal.

From a MPG stand point...the GT probably isn't that much better than an M6 Ls1.

I hate it for you. I feel that is exactly what would happen to me if I ever sold mine. On the same note, my grandfather told me I should have traded my '93 z71 in on my ws6 when I bought it six years ago. Thankfully, I kept it. I got way too many memories in that truck, even with 13mpg.

It is really hard to have a awesome car and use it for a DD.

It just pissed me off when I drove my car every day. I would just notice more road rash every day. My f250 has 25k and looks like it has 125k.

I'm fine with DDing mine. I'd hate to have a car just sit. Especially a nice one.

But I am looking for a bike to DD on really nice days.

I love DD mine. I have other cars but prefer to drive the LS1 A4. Similar or better MPG than my other cars. Plus it's almost a 10 year old F-body not a Ferrari. It's meant to be driven everyday.
