Default Corvette ?

Thinking about trading my 98 TA in for a yellow 2004 vette Zo6 M6 with 32,000 miles on it. They want $24,990 for the vette. Does that sound like a reasonable price to you guys? I`m just not for sure if i would get enough out of my car to make the payments reasonable. I still owe a lil less than $9,000 on the TA, and if i did get the vette i wouldn`t be able to pay more than $300 a month for payments does that sound like it would be doable with a car that old. Also if it helps my car is bone stock except for mods in sig and still looks a runs like it did when it was new from the factory.

I doubt you can get it done. Your car is worth less than 9 k, so you will have negative equity on top of the sticker price. My payments on my car were close to 400 dollars a month for a 22k price in 2003.

As for the price on the Vette, check kbb, and also comparison shop it agains other similarly equipped models.

on average, the rule of thumb is every 10k=200 a month...
you may be better selling your car out right, not part of "the deal" go to the corvette forum- alot of members are selling very nice from stock to heavily modded cars at very reasonable prices...

Hope you have a 710-730 fico because if you don't they will rape you on the APR and may not even give you a loan these days.

Sorry dude that is just a fantasy. Even if you get a loan for 72 months with 7% intrest and lets just say they pay off your TA. Your payment would be $446 That is a great price on the vette!! I have a TA and a Vette. A Z06 is a nice upgrade. You can play around with the numbers on here

The vette seems like a good deal, but you can't get it for $300 a month.

great price on the Z. I've seen Ls2 c6's on autotrader for 27k. Good rule of thumb is $20 bux per month per $1000 borrowed. I didn't know vettes are cheaper to insure than fbody. That's weird considering the repair costs on a vette plus original cost of car is almost double. I am fighting the urge to get a c5 or c6.

Vette's are owned by more responsible drivers which is why they're lower

Who generally owns a car really shouldnt make a difference since the driver is the one who could potentially wreck it. It should be based on your risk as a driver, and how much it would cost to fix the car that you own/finance.

I realize that this is apparently no the way its done.

Vette's are typically peasure vehicles, driven by older more seasoned drivers. They have a lower wreck percentage, than say a f-body. (where there is somebody parting one out daily in the for sale forums)

The first aspect, of the risk of the driver is how it is cheaper for a vette. (my dad would get much better rates them myself for a vette for example)

The second part can cause part of the rates to increase, and is why my GTO is more expensive to insure than a f-car, since they get totaled out easily (all crash parts are expensive for that vehicle since it is limited production, and parts are all made in australia)

I don`t know how much longer i can fight the urge for a vette. If i could find a nice lower mileage C5 for $16,000 I`d trade my TA in a heartbeat.
