As for the price on the Vette, check kbb, and also comparison shop it agains other similarly equipped models.
you may be better selling your car out right, not part of "the deal" go to the corvette forum- alot of members are selling very nice from stock to heavily modded cars at very reasonable prices...

I realize that this is apparently no the way its done.
The first aspect, of the risk of the driver is how it is cheaper for a vette. (my dad would get much better rates them myself for a vette for example)
The second part can cause part of the rates to increase, and is why my GTO is more expensive to insure than a f-car, since they get totaled out easily (all crash parts are expensive for that vehicle since it is limited production, and parts are all made in australia)
