Is this a f body? have you tried to move the throttle body buy hand? If the throttle body will move all the way to wide open and the rpms wont go over 2k i would start with the fuel filter.

I doubt it a fuel problem since if it was you'd still be able to mash the pedal to the floor, the car will just sputter and might stall.

move the TB by hand, try and rev it under the hood.

could be the throttle line. or possibly some problem with the cruise control or traction control modules since they connect to the tb as well.

yes its an 01 t/a and I can move the throttle under the hood at the tb. I am going to try a fillter tomorow since it needs to be changed anyway. If that does or dosnt work I will let you know.

have someone hit the pedal while you look at the tb, just to make sure.

if you can rev it from the t/b it has nothing to do with the filter what so ever.
