The thing in the second picture is the starter. It should not be leaking oil as there is no oil that goes to that. The first picture is of the bell housing.

Those little metal plug/covers can be taken out so you can look up in there and further investigate.

Did you or someone else change the oil?

Does it continually leak or was it just after you changed the oil. It might just be frame drippage. I havent seen under an ls1 but it could be that you spilt some oil putting in the engine or when you removed the filter it splashed some on the block and now its running down.

Could be valve cover gaskets leaking a little. I dont know if ls1's do it but ive seen some oil caps on older chevys leak a little.

There are a few things up top that will allow oil to leak. Check around the covers and the pcv hose in the back on the driver side valve cover.

leaks always go back and down from gravity and wind. look for the most forward and highest point that is wet with oil and there is your leak. if confused wipe everything dry and drive it awhile and look again.

look from the bottom and find the furthest point forward that is wet with oil. then look for the highest seal or gasket thats wet from that point. there is your leak. dont look at the frame or anything else. look at the motor.

If it's not missing a noticeable amount of oil after 1500 miles I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just crank seal seepage. Were you running synthetic before? Sometimes switching to synthetic will reveal leaks that were not noticeable before.
