Default List of pieces that fail easily or weak links

From what I have seen and read I will start with a couple. Don't know if this has been put out there but:

- Flywheels are thin and crack even on stock setups
- Torque arms break even at low HP levels
- Driveshafts fail even on stock setups

Please add if you have a common thing that goes. I addressed these

On a regular basis? Didn't see any pushrod or rod bolt failure pics. I know the 10 bolt is weak but does okay 400 HP though. Eventually I want to swap it! Did door motors once already (I think a power issue is at fault there!). The other stuff doesn't do damage to your wallet like the engine stuff does LOL

Well I second the 10bolt, flex plates on automatics crack along the bolts, window motors. Shifter ***** on six speeds for me. Rip the threads out of the bottom of them. ball joints if you like corner carving and ball joints.

Damn you guys got all the lemons.
I don't think I've had repeated failures even owing two 4th gen f-bodies.

And a torque arm a common failure? I doubt that. They fail sure, but not enough to call common.

people have more problems with pushrods and ESPECIALLY 10 bolts than they do the TQ arm or driveshafts...

at least from what ive seen..

I listed those because I have seen pics of driveshafts and torque arms on here. No pushrod pics.

I have heard the stock push rods will bend at anything over 6200 rpm. But have never seen any real evidence of this.

I couldn't find any pushrod stuff in a search today but since I am about to do 1.85 rockers I ordered the TSP .080" wall moly pieces.

The torque arm is true. I had a 98 V-6 daily driver that was never ragged on. It was a cruiser and the torque arm front bushing went out. I also had issues with the transmission mount, window motors, ball joints, large dash panel, DRL and lastly the motor died at 84k miles. Before you ask, yes, the car was always maintained on time and oil changed every 3k miles.

The 01 T/A, I have only had for a few months. DRL and driver's window is a definate. The door panel is cracked on the driver's side. Small, but it irritates me. I had to replace a belt tensioner when I got it, my car wasn't holding a charge. That is it so far, but like I said, I only owned it a few months.

Ok! Let's see now, I've had 5 F Bodies since 93 and here is my list of typical stuff that fails,
Air Conditioning Compressor (too low to the ground)
Window motor / Drivers side, never has failed but they sloooow done
Optispark (on my LT1's)
Sun visor friggin elastic band (ah! ha! y'all forgot about that one)
Front door speakers
Driver seat leather wears out too soon!
never any real mechanical problems, motor wise that is, other than the air cond comp

Did I miss anyone mentioning the CATs? There is a GM recall on them for some years because they fail so often.

I've had a '97 & '01 V-6 and now the '02 TA. I've had these problems

Wiper motor or assembly can break and wipers work but stop/park in UP postition.
V-6 wires go bad often, blew a coil once.
Auto shift handle fell apart.
CD player went out.
Leaky pinion seals.
Bad CATs.
HATED the damn warped brake rotors, all 3 cars, so much I finally converted to C5 fronts on TA I have now.

I think thats about it.

Can you really mark that as a "common" problem then? Its not GMs fault that you constantly redline and add a bigger cam on the car. For stock purposes for people that can actually drive correctly (not bouncing off the rev limiter and not misshifting) shouldn't stock pushrods be fine? I accidentally redlined my engine for like 2-3 seconds and my pushrods seem fine(totally stock except for catback)
