Default How the heck to you crack a plug???

Ok, about 2 weeks ago I seafoamed the T/A. All was well, was running good, but seemed to be bogging a bit at WOT. Ran it semi hard for a week, while the seafoam was in the gas. I was trying to blow out the carbon like hesitation at WOT. Well, the car slowly got worse and the bogging came down to mid RPMs and then lower RPMs before I got a day off to lok what was wrong....engine lights kept kicking on #7 cylinder misfire. So, anyways pulled it out today and it was a cracked plug. Replaced it with a new one and runs fine. My question is, how does a pulg with less than a 1k miles crack?

I'd guess you cracked it when you put it in there 1000 miles ago.

Maybe so...but, it only started to act up when the seafoam was in there. Prior to that it was super smooth for a cracked plug.

yea may just have been coincidence and the crack got bigger from over torque in the first place.

I can't believe no one asked where the crack was.
If it was on the inside you've got problems.
If it was on the outside it was probably caused by the socket being on it crooked when it was tightened down. It doesn't even need to be overtorqued to crack like this.

Base to the tip ok. I guess you mean outside of the engine looking at the plug installed.

No mystery, it happens, replace it, forget it, move on.
