backfiring and sputtering after installing alot of stuff
So we just installed headers, custom y, and new plugs and wires. it was running right before all this but now its backfiring when im idling and at low rpms while im driving and at WOT it sounds almost like a misfire. i had patrick G tune the car for me and he checked everything plugs, wires, coils, injectors and everything checked out. is there anything that im missing? maybe a bent pushrod? i did a search but none of the things i found helped me out.

Make sure plug wires are not touching any of the LT pipes. That will cause a miss fire. Maybe a broken spark plug.

You cracked the porcelian(sp?) on one or more of your spark plugs...Pull them out and look for any fineline cracks..You can rub some dirty grease or something to make the imperfection stand out

the thing that has me speechless is the fact that my car is only throwing one code(o2 sensors not switching over) but i just replaced the stock sensors with brand new vette sensors and its still running horribly. i havent seen any misfire codes pop up at all. im taking it to kurts shop wednesday and we are gonna see what the heck is going on

im having the same problem with my 98 Z28. i replaced the spark plugs and wires, but the car still stutters. no misfire code. i thought it was the tune, so i took it back and tried another tune but still acts the same. im gonna try replacing the o2's. at idle the car seems ok but driving it stutters. i dont know wat to do

ended up being the wires. apparently the stock plug wires are much better than any aftermarket plug wire you can buy. runs like a champ with the stock wires on it now!
